NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA RICCIOTTI
1 David addressed the words of this song to Yahweh, when Yahweh had delivered him from theclutches of all his enemies and from the clutches of Saul.	1 - Davide rivolse al Signore le parole di questo cantico nel giorno in cui fu liberato dal Signore dalla mano di tutti i suoi nemici e dalla mano di Saul.
2 He said: Yahweh is my rock and my fortress,	2 Egli disse: «Il Signore è la mia rocca, la mia forza e il mio Salvatore;
3 my deliverer is my God. I take refuge in him, my rock, my shield, my saving strength, my stronghold,my place of refuge. My Saviour, you have saved me from violence;	3 Dio è la mia fortezza; in lui spererò; il mio scudo e il corno della mia salvezza, il mio glorificatore e il mio rifugio. O mio salvatore, tu mi libererai dalla iniquità.
4 I cal to Yahweh, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my foes.	4 Invocherò il Signore, che è degno di lode, e da' miei nemici sarò liberato.
5 With Death's breakers closing in on me, Belial's torrents ready to swal ow me,	5 Poichè gli affanni di morte mi circondarono, i torrenti di Belial mi atterrirono,
6 Sheol's snares on every side of me, Death's traps lying ahead of me,	6 i legami dell'inferno mi circondaronoi lacci della morte mi strinsero.
7 I cal ed to Yahweh in my anguish, I cried for help to my God, from his Temple he heard my voice, mycry came to his ears!	7 Nella mia tribolazione invocherò il Signore, e al mio Dio griderò, ed egli esaudirà dal suo tempio la mia voce, e il mio grido giungerà alle sue orecchie.
8 Then the earth quaked and rocked, the heavens' foundations shuddered, they quaked at his blazinganger.	8 La terra sobbalzò e tremò, le basi dei monti furon scosse e tremarono, perchè egli era sdegnato con essi.
9 Smoke rose from his nostrils, from his mouth devouring fire (coals were kindled at it).	9 Si elevò il fumo dalle sue narici, e un fuoco divoratore uscì dalla sua bocca, e da lui furono accesi dei carboni.
10 He parted the heavens and came down, a storm-cloud underneath his feet;	10 Abbassò i cieli e discese, e una nebbia caliginosa stava sotto i suoi piedi.
11 riding one of the winged creatures, he flew, soaring on the wings of the wind.	11 Salì sopra i cherubini e sciolse il suo voloe si librò su le ali del vento.
12 He wrapped himself in darkness, his pavilion dark waters and dense cloud.	12 Pose attorno a sè, a mo' di nascondiglio, le tenebre, fece stillare le acque dalle nubi del cielo;
13 A brightness lit up before him, hail and blazing fire.	13 con lo splendore che lo circondasi sono accesi carboni ardenti.
14 Yahweh thundered from the heavens, the Most High made his voice heard.	14 Il Signore tuonerà dal cielo, e l'Altissimo farà udir la sua voce.
15 He shot his arrows and scattered them, his lightning flashed and routed them.	15 Scagliò le saette e li dissipò, la folgore e li distrusse.
16 The very springs of ocean were exposed, the world's foundations were laid bare, at the roaring ofYahweh, at the blast of breath from his nostrils!	16 Apparvero allora gli abissi del mare, furono messe a nudo le fondamenta della terraalle minacce del Signore e al soffio impetuoso del suo furore.
17 He reached down from on high, snatched me up, pul ed me from the watery depths,	17 Dall'alto stese la sua mano e mi prese, e mi trasse dalle acque profonde.
18 rescued me from my mighty foe, from my enemies who were stronger than I.	18 Mi liberò dal mio nemico potentissimo, e da quanti mi odiavano, perchè eran più forti di me.
19 They assailed me on my day of disaster, but Yahweh was there to support me,	19 Mi prevenne nel giorno della mia afflizione, e il Signore divenne il mio sostegno,
20 he freed me, set me at large, he rescued me, because he loves me.	20 e mi trasse fuori, al largo: mi liberò, perchè mi volle bene.
21 Yahweh rewards me for my uprightness, as my hands are pure so he repays me,	21 Il Signore mi retribuirà secondo la mia giustiziae mi renderà secondo la purezza delle mie mani;
22 since I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and not fal en away from my God.	22 poichè io ho custodito le vie del Signore e non operai empiamente [allontanandomi] dal mio Dio;
23 His judgements are al before me, his statutes I have not put away from me;	23 poichè tutti i suoi giudizi sono a me presenti, e i suoi precetti non allontanai da me;
24 I am blameless before him, I keep myself clear of evil.	24 sarò perfetto con luie mi guarderò dalla mia iniquità.
25 Hence Yahweh repaid me for acting uprightly because he could see I was pure.	25 E il Signore mi renderà secondo la mia giustizia, e secondo la purezza delle mie mani dinanzi agli occhi suoi.
26 Faithful you are to the faithful, blameless with the blameless,	26 Con chi è santo, tu sarai santoe con chi è forte, [tu sarai] forte;
27 sincere to the sincere but cunning to the crafty,	27 con chi è innocente, tu sarai innocente e col perverso agirai secondo la sua perversità.
28 you save a people that is humble and humiliate those with haughty looks.	28 Tu salverai il popolo povero, e coi tuoi occhi umilierai i superbi.
29 Yahweh, you yourself are my lamp, my God lights up my darkness;	29 Perchè tu sei la mia lucerna, o Signore, e tu, o Signore, illuminerai le mie tenebre.
30 with you I storm the rampart with my God I can scale any wal .	30 Poichè con te io accorrerò armato, e col mio Dio scalerò le mura.
31 This God, his way is blameless; the word of Yahweh is refined in the furnace, for he alone is theshield of al who take refuge in him.	31 La via di Dio è immacolata, la parola del Signore è provata dal fuoco; egli è lo scudo di quanti sperano in lui.
32 For who is God but Yahweh, who is a rock but our God:	32 Chi è Dio all'infuori del Signore?e chi è forte all'infuori del Dio nostro?
33 this God who girds me with strength, who makes my way free from blame,	33 Dio, che mi ha cinto di forzaed ha resa piana completamente la mia via,
34 who makes me as swift as a deer and sets me firmly on the heights,	34 rendendo i miei piedi simili a quelli dei cervie collocandomi sopra i luoghi più elevati,
35 who trains my hands for battle my arms to bend a bow of bronze.	35 addestrando le mie mani alla pugnae rendendo le mie braccia come un arco di rame.
36 You give me your invincible shield, you never cease to listen to me,	36 Tu mi hai dato lo scudo della tua salvezza, e la tua bontà mi ha fatto grande.
37 you give me the strides of a giant, give me ankles that never weaken-	37 Tu allargherai il cammino sotto i miei passi, e i miei calcagni non vacilleranno mai;
38 I pursue my enemies and exterminate them, not turning back till they are annihilated;	38 inseguirò i miei nemici e li stermineròe non tornerò indietro finchè non li abbia annientati;
39 I strike them down, and they cannot rise, they fal , they are under my feet.	39 li annienterò e li spezzerò perchè non abbian più a rialzarsi; essi cadranno sotto i miei piedi.
40 You have girded me with strength for the fight, bent down my assailants beneath me,	40 Tu mi hai cinto di fortezza per il combattimento, e hai fatto piegare sotto di me i miei avversari;
41 made my enemies retreat before me; and those who hate me I destroy.	41 hai fatto voltar le spalle ai miei nemici, e a quei che mi odiano, ed io li sterminerò.
42 They cry out, there is no one to save, to Yahweh, but no answer comes.	42 Grideranno, e non vi sarà chi li salvi, [si volgeranno] al Signore, e non li esaudirà.
43 I crumble them like the dust of the squares, trample them like the mud of the streets.	43 Li disperderò come la polvere della terra, li schiaccerò quasi fango delle piazze e li spezzerò.
44 You free me from the quarrels of my people, you place me at the head of the nations, a people I didnot know are now my servants,	44 Tu mi salverai dalle contraddizioni del mio popolo, mi custodirai quale capo delle nazioni. Un popolo che io non conosco mi servirà,
45 foreigners come wooing my favour, no sooner do they hear than they obey me,	45 gli stranieri mi faranno resistenza, al primo udire mi ubbidiranno;
46 foreigners grow faint of heart, they come trembling out of their fastnesses.	46 gli stranieri sono stati dispersie si ritirano nei loro recinti.
47 Life to Yahweh! Blessed be my rock! Exalted be the God of my salvation,	47 Viva il Signore e sia benedetto il mio Dio, e sia esaltato Iddio, fortezza della mia salute.
48 the God who gives me vengeance and crushes the peoples under me,	48 Sei tu, o Dio, che fai le mie vendette e assoggetti a me i popoli
49 who takes me away from my enemies. You lift me high above those who attack me, you deliver mefrom the man of violence.	49 e mi sottrai ai miei nemicie mi elevi al di sopra de' miei avversari; tu mi libererai dall'uomo iniquo.
50 For this I wil praise you, Yahweh, among the nations, and sing praise to your name.	50 Perciò io ti loderò, o Signore, fra le gentie innalzerò cantici al tuo nome,
51 He saves his king, time after time, displays faithful love for his anointed, for David and his heirs forever.	51 tu che esalti le vittorie del tuo re, e usi misericordia al tuo unto, a Davide e al seme suo in sempiterno».
