Genesis 46

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 So Israel set out with al his possessions. Arriving at Beersheba, he offered sacrifices to the God of hisfather Isaac.	1 Israel partió llevándose todos sus bienes. Cuando llegó a Berseba, ofreció sacrificios al Dios de su padre Isaac.
2 God spoke to Israel in a vision at night, 'Jacob, Jacob,' he said. 'Here I am,' he replied.	2 Dios dijo a Israel en una visión nocturna: «¡Jacob, Jacob!». El respondió: «Aquí estoy».
3 'I am El, God of your father,' he said. 'Do not be afraid of going down to Egypt, for I will make you intoa great nation there.	3 Dios continuó: «Yo soy Dios, el Dios de tu padre. No tengas miedo de bajar a Egipto, porque allí haré de ti una gran nación.
4 I shal go down to Egypt with you and I myself shall bring you back again, and Joseph's hand wilclose your eyes.'	4 Yo bajaré contigo a Egipto, y después yo mismo te haré volver; y las manos de José cerrarán tus ojos».
5 So Jacob left Beersheba. Israel's sons conveyed their father Jacob, their little children and their wivesin the waggons Pharaoh had sent to fetch him.	5 Cuando Jacob salió de Berseba, los hijos de Israel hicieron subir a su padre, junto con sus hijos y sus mujeres, en los carros que el Faraón había enviado para trasladarlos.
6 Taking their livestock and all that they had acquired in Canaan, they arrived in Egypt -- Jacob and alhis offspring.	6 Ellos se llevaron también su ganado y las posesiones que habían adquirido en Canaán. Así llegaron a Egipto, Jacob y toda su familia
7 With him to Egypt, he brought his sons and grandsons, his daughters and granddaughters -- al hisoffspring.	7 –sus hijos y sus nietos, sus hijas y sus nietas– porque él había llevado consigo a todos sus descendientes.
8 These were the names of the Israelites, Jacob and his descendants, who arrived in Egypt: Reuben,Jacob's first-born,	8 Los nombres de los hijos de Israel –o sea, Jacob y sus hijos– que emigraron a Egipto son los siguientes: Rubén el primogénito de Jacob,
9 and the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pal u, Hezron and Carmi.	9 y los hijos de Rubén: Henoc, Palú, Jesrón y Carmí.
10 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of the Canaanitewoman.	10 Los hijos de Simeón: Iemuel, Iamín, Ohad, Iaquín, Sójar y Saúl, el hijo de la cananea.
11 The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath and Merari.	11 Los hijos de Leví: Gersón, Quehat y Merarí.
12 The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah (Er and Onan had died in Canaan), andHezron and Hamul sons of Perez.	12 Los hijos de Judá: Er, Onán, Selá, Peres y Zéraj. Er y Onán ya habían muerto en Canaán, y los hijos de Peres fueron Jesrón y Jamul.
13 The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Jashub and Shimron.	13 Los hijos de Isacar: Tolá, Puvá, Iasub y Simrón.

15 These were the sons that Leah had borne to Jacob in Paddan-Aram, besides his daughter Dinah; inal , his sons and daughters numbered thirty-three.	15 Estos son los hijos que Lía había dado a Jacob en Padán Aram, además de su hija Dina. 18 These were the sons of Zilpah whom Laban gave to his daughter Leah; she bore these to Jacob --sixteen persons.	18 Estos son los hijos de Zilpá, la esclava que Labán había dado a su hija Lía. De ella le nacieron a Jacob estas dieciséis personas.
19 The sons of Rachel wife of Jacob: Joseph and Benjamin.	19 Los hijos de Raquel, la esposa de Jacob: José y Benjamín.
20 Born to Joseph in Egypt were: Manasseh and Ephraim sons of Asenath, daughter of Potiphera priestof On.	20 En Egipto, José fue padre de Manasés y Efraím, los hijos que le dio Asnat, la hija de Potifera, sacerdote de la ciudad de On.
21 The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim and Ard.	21 Los hijos de Benjamín: Belá, Béquer, Asbel, Guerá, Naamán, Ejí, Ros, Mupím, Jupím y Ard.
22 These were the sons that Rachel bore to Jacob -- fourteen persons in al .	22 Estos son los hijos de Raquel, que le nacieron a Jacob. En total, catorce personas.
23 The sons of Dan: Hushim.	23 El hijo de Dan: Jusím.
24 The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer and Shil em.	24 Los hijos de Neftalí: Iajsel, Guní, Iéser y Silém.
25 These were the sons of Bilhah whom Laban gave to his daughter Rachel; she bore these to Jacob --seven persons in all.	25 Estos son los descendientes de Bilhá, la esclava que Labán había dado a su hija Raquel. De ella le nacieron a Jacob estas siete personas.
26 Altogether, the members of Jacob's family who arrived with him in Egypt -- his own issue, notcounting the wives of Jacob's sons -- numbered sixty-six all told.	26 Toda la familia de Jacob que emigró a Egipto –sus propios descendientes, sin contar a las mujeres de sus hijos– sumaban un total de sesenta y seis personas,
27 With Joseph's sons born to him in Egypt -- two persons -- the members of Jacob's family who wentto Egypt totalled seventy.	27 incluyendo a José y a los dos hijos que este tuvo en Egipto, toda la familia de Jacob, cuando emigró a Egipto, sumaba un total de setenta personas.
28 Israel sent Judah ahead to Joseph, so that Judah might present himself to Joseph in Goshen. Whenthey arrived in Goshen,	28 Israel hizo que Judá se le adelantara y fuera a ver a José, para anunciarle su llegada a Gosen. Cuando llegaron a la región de Gosen,
29 Joseph had his chariot made ready and went up to Goshen to meet his father Israel. As soon as heappeared he threw his arms round his neck and for a long time wept on his shoulder.	29 José hizo enganchar su carruaje y subió hasta allí para encontrarse con su padre Israel. Apenas este apareció ante él, José lo estrechó entre sus brazos, y lloró un largo rato, abrazado a su padre.
30 Israel said to Joseph, 'Now I can die, now that I have seen you in person and seen you stil alive.'	30 Entonces Israel dijo a José: «Ahora sí que puedo morir, porque he vuelto a ver tu rostro y que vives todavía».
31 Then Joseph said to his brothers and his father's family, 'I shall go back and break the news toPharaoh. I shall tel him, "My brothers and my father's family who were in Canaan have come to me.	31 Después José dijo a sus hermanos y a la familia de su padre: «Yo iré a informar al Faraón y le diré: «Mis hermanos y la familia de mi padre, que antes estaban en Canaán, han venido a reunirse conmigo.

33 Thus, when Pharaoh summons you and asks, "What is your occupation?",	33 Por eso, cuando el Faraón los llame y les pregunte de qué se ocupan,
34 you are to say, "Ever since our boyhood your servants have looked after livestock, we and ourfathers before us," so that you can stay in the Goshen region -- for the Egyptians have a horror of al shepherds.'	34 ustedes responderán: «Tus servidores, desde su juventud hasta ahora, se han dedicado a cuidar el ganado, lo mismo que sus antepasados».
