NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Abraham married another wife whose name was Keturah;	1 Abraham volvió a tomar otra mujer, llamada Queturá.
2 and she bore him Zimram, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah.	2 Esta le dio a Zimrán, Yoqsán, Medán, Madián, Yisbaq y Súaj.
3 Jokshan was the father of Sheba and Dedan, and the descendants of Dedan were the Asshurites, theLetushim and the Leummim.	3 - Yoqsán engendró a Seba y a Dedán. Hijos de Dedán fueron los asuritas, los letusíes y los leumies. -
4 The descendants of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida and Eldaah. Al these were sons ofKeturah.	4 Hijos de Madián: Efá, Efer, Henoc, Abidá y Eldaá. Todos éstos, hijos de Queturá.
5 Abraham left al his possessions to Isaac.	5 Abraham dio todo cuanto tenía a Isaac.
6 To the sons of his concubines Abraham made grants during his lifetime, sending them away from hisson Isaac eastward, to the Land of the East.	6 A los hijos de las concubinas que tenía Abraham les hizo donaciones y, viviendo aún él, los separó de Isaac, enviándoles hacia levante, al país de Oriente.
7 The number of years Abraham lived was a hundred and seventy-five.	7 Estos fueron los días de vida de Abraham: 175 años.
8 When Abraham had breathed his last, dying at a happy ripe age, old and ful of years, he wasgathered to his people.	8 Expiró, pues, Abraham y murió en buena ancianidad, viejo y lleno de días, y fue a juntarse con su pueblo.
9 His sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah facing Mamre, in the field of Ephronthe Hittite son of Zohar.	9 Sus hijos Isaac e Ismael le sepultaron en la cueva de la Makpelá, al borde de la finca de Efrón, hijo de Sójar, el hitita, enfrente de Mambré.
10 This was the field that Abraham had bought from the Hittites, and Abraham and his wife Sarah wereburied there.	10 En la finca que Abraham había comprado a los hijos de Het, allí fue sepultado Abraham con su mujer Sara.
11 After Abraham's death, God blessed his son Isaac. Isaac settled near the wel of Lahai Roi.	11 Después de la muerte de Abraham, bendijo Dios a su hijo Isaac. Isaac se estableció en las inmediaciones del pozo de Lajay Roí.
12 These are the descendants of Ishmael son of Abraham by Hagar, Sarah's Egyptian slave-girl.	12 Estos son los descendientes de Ismael, hijo de Abraham, el que le dio a Abraham Agar la egipcia, esclava de Sara;
13 These are the names of the sons of Ishmael by name and line: Ishmael's first-born was Nebaioth;then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,	13 y estos son los nombres de los hijos de Ismael, por orden de nacimiento: El primogénito de Ismael, Nebayot; después, Quedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,
14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa,	14 Mismá, Dumá, Massá,
15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah.	15 Jadad, Temá, Yetur, Nafís y Quedmá.
16 These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, according to their settlements andencampments, twelve chiefs of as many tribes.	16 Estos son los hijos de Ismael, y éstos sus nombres según sus poblados y sus aduares: doce caudillos de otros tantos pueblos.
17 The number of years Ishmael lived was one hundred and thirty-seven. When he breathed his lastand died, he was gathered to his people.	17 Y estos fueron los años de vida de Ismael: 137 años. Luego expiró y murió, y fue a juntarse con su pueblo.
18 He lived in the territory stretching from Havilah-by-Shur just outside Egypt on the way to Assyria, andhe held his own against all his kinsmen.	18 Ocupó desde Javilá hasta Sur, que cae enfrente de Egipto, según se va a Asur. Se estableció enfrente de todos sus hermanos.
19 This is the story of Isaac son of Abraham. Abraham fathered Isaac.	19 Esta es la historia de Isaac, hijo de Abraham: Abraham engendró a Isaac.
20 Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah the daughter of Bethuel the Aramaean ofPaddan-Aram, and sister of Laban the Aramaean.	20 Tenía Isaac cuarenta años cuando tomó por mujer a Rebeca, hija de Betuel, el arameo de Paddán Aram, y hermana de Labán el arameo.
21 Isaac prayed to Yahweh on behalf of his wife, for she was barren. Yahweh heard his prayer, and hiswife Rebekah conceived.	21 Isaac suplicó a Yahveh en favor de su mujer, pues era estéril, y Yahveh le fue propicio, y concibió su mujer Rebeca.
22 But the children inside her struggled so much that she said, 'If this is the way of it, why go on living?'So she went to consult Yahweh,	22 Pero los hijos se entrechocaban en su seno. Ella se dijo: «Siendo así, ¿para qué vivir?» Y fue a consultar a Yahveh.
23 and Yahweh said to her: There are two nations in your womb, your issue wil be two rival peoples.One nation wil have the mastery of the other, and the elder wil serve the younger.	23 Yahveh le dijo: «Dos pueblos hay en tu vientre, dos naciones que, al salir de tus entrañas, se dividirán. La una oprimirá a la otra; el mayor servirá al pequeño.»
24 When the time came for her confinement, there were indeed twins in her womb.	24 Cumpliéronsele los días de dar a luz, y resultó que había dos mellizos en su vientre.
25 The first to be born was red, altogether like a hairy cloak; so they named him Esau.	25 Salió el primero, rubicundo todo él, como una pelliza de zalea, y le llamaron Esaú.
26 Then his brother was born, with his hand grasping Esau's heel; so they named him Jacob. Isaac wassixty years old at the time of their birth.	26 Después salió su hermano, cuya mano agarraba el talón de Esaú, y se llamó Jacob. Isaac tenía sesenta años cuando los engendró.
27 When the boys grew up Esau became a skil ed hunter, a man of the open country. Jacob on theother hand was a quiet man, staying at home among the tents.	27 Crecieron los muchachos. Esaú llegó a ser un cazador experto, un hombre montaraz, y Jacob un hombre muy de la tienda.
28 Isaac preferred Esau, for he had a taste for wild game; but Rebekah preferred Jacob.	28 Isaac quería a Esaú, porque le gustaba la caza, y Rebeca quería a Jacob.
29 Once, when Jacob was cooking a stew, Esau returned from the countryside exhausted.	29 Una vez, Jacob había preparado un guiso cuando llegó Esaú del campo, agotado.
30 Esau said to Jacob, 'Give me a mouthful of that red stuff there; I am exhausted' -- hence the namegiven to him, Edom.	30 Dijo Esaú a Jacob: «Oye, dame a probar de lo rojo, de eso rojo, porque estoy agotado.» - Por eso se le llamó Edom. -
31 Jacob said, 'First, give me your birthright in exchange.'	31 Dijo Jacob: «Véndeme ahora mismo tu primogenitura.»
32 Esau said, 'Here I am, at death's door; what use is a birthright to me?'	32 Dijo Esaú: «Estoy que me muero. ¿Qué me importa la primogenitura?»
33 Then Jacob said, 'First give me your oath'; he gave him his oath and sold his birthright to Jacob.	33 Dijo Jacob: «Júramelo ahora mismo.» Y él se lo juró, vendiendo su primogenitura a Jacob.
34 Then Jacob gave him some bread and lentil stew; he ate, drank, got up and went away. That was allEsau cared about his birthright.	34 Jacob dio a Esaú pan y el guiso de lentejas, y éste comió y bebió, se levantó y se fue. Así desdeñó Esaú la primogenitura.
