1 First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone,	1 Ante todo recomiendo que se hagan plegarias, oraciones, súplicas y acciones de gracias por todos los hombres;
2 for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity.	2 por los reyes y por todos los constituidos en autoridad, para que podamos vivir una vida tranquila y apacible con toda piedad y dignidad.
3 This is good and pleasing to God our savior,	3 Esto es bueno y agradable a Dios, nuestro Salvador,
4 who wills everyone to be saved and to come to knowledge of the truth.	4 que quiere que todos los hombres se salven y lleguen al conocimiento pleno de la verdad.
5 For there is one God. There is also one mediator between God and the human race, Christ Jesus, himself human,	5 Porque hay un solo Dios, y también un solo mediador entre Dios y los hombres, Cristo Jesús, hombre también,

9 Similarly, (too,) women should adorn themselves with proper conduct, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hairstyles and gold ornaments, or pearls, or expensive clothes,	9 Así mismo que las mujeres, vestidas decorosamente, se adornen con pudor y modestia, no con trenzas ni con oro o perlas o vestidos costosos,
10 but rather, as befits women who profess reverence for God, with good deeds.	10 sino con buenas obras, como conviene a mujeres que hacen profesión de piedad.
11 A woman must receive instruction silently and under complete control.	11 La mujer oiga la instrucción en silencio, con toda sumisión.
12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. She must be quiet.	12 No permito que la mujer enseñe ni que domine al hombre. Que se mantenga en silencio.
13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve.	13 Porque Adán fue formado primero y Eva en segundo lugar.
14 Further, Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and transgressed.	14 Y el engañado no fue Adán, sino la mujer que, seducida, incurrió en la transgresión.
