1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: grace to you and peace.	1 Paolo, Silvano e Timoteo alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi che è in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo: a voi grazia e pace!
2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, remembering you in our prayers, unceasingly	2 Ringraziamo sempre Iddio per tutti voi, nelle nostre preghiere;
3 calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father,	3 ricordiamo ininterrottamente, davanti a Dio nostro Padre, la vostra fede operosa, l’ardua carità, la perseverante speranza, nel Signor nostro Gesù Cristo.
4 knowing, brothers loved by God, how you were chosen.	4 Ci è presente, 0 fratelli da Dio diletti, la vostra elezione:
5 For our gospel did not come to you in word alone, but also in power and in the holy Spirit and (with) much conviction. You know what sort of people we were (among) you for your sake.	5 come il nostro evangelo non vi fu annunziato soltanto con la parola, ma anche con potenza straordinaria, con l’effusione dello Spirito Santo, con piena certezza e ben sapete come ci diportammo tra voi per vostro bene.
6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the holy Spirit,	6 Voi allora vi faceste imitatori nostri e del Signore, accogliendo il nostro annunzio, tra grandi vessazioni, con la gioia dello Spirito Santo,
7 so that you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 sì da divenire un modello per tutti i credenti della Macedonia e dell’Acaia.
8 For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth not only in Macedonia and (in) Achaia, but in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.	8 Da voi, infatti, la parola del Signore è echeggiata non soltanto nella Macedonia è nell’Acaia, ma la vostra fede in Dio si è divulgata dappertutto, a tal punto che non abbiamo bisogno di parlarne.
9 For they themselves openly declare about us what sort of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God	9 lutti raccontano di noi: quale accoglienza avemmo tra voi e come voi vi convertiste dagl’idoli a Dio al servire al Dio vivo e vero
10 and to await his Son from heaven, whom he raised from (the) dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.	10 e aspettare dal cielo il suo Figlio Gesù, che risuscitò da morte e che ci salva dall’ira che s’approssima.
