1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy to the church of the Thessalonians in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: grace to you and peace.	1 Paolo, Silvano e Timoteo, alla Chiesa dei Tessalonicesi, in Dio Padre e nel Signore Gesù Cristo:
2 We give thanks to God always for all of you, remembering you in our prayers, unceasingly	2 grazie a voi e pace. Noi rendiamo sempre grazie a Dio per tutti voi, facendo continuamente memoria, di voi nelle nostre orazioni,
3 calling to mind your work of faith and labor of love and endurance in hope of our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father,	3 ricordandoci, davanti a Dio e Padre nostro, dell'opera della vostra fede, dei sacrifizi della vostra carità e della ferma vostra speranza nel Signore nostro Gesù Cristo,
4 knowing, brothers loved by God, how you were chosen.	4 sapendo, o fratelli da Dio amati, che siete degli eletti.
5 For our gospel did not come to you in word alone, but also in power and in the holy Spirit and (with) much conviction. You know what sort of people we were (among) you for your sake.	5 Infatti il nostro Vangelo tra di voi non fu solo a parole, ma anche nella virtù e nello Spirito Santo e in molto accertamento; voi del resto ben sapete quali siamo stati fra di voi per vostro bene.
6 And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in great affliction, with joy from the holy Spirit,	6 E voi siete divenuti imitatori nostri e del Signore avendo ricevuto la Parola in mezzo a molte tribolazioni colla gioia dello Spirito Santo,
7 so that you became a model for all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia.	7 fino a divenire modello a tutti i credenti nella Macedonia e nell'Acaia.
8 For from you the word of the Lord has sounded forth not only in Macedonia and (in) Achaia, but in every place your faith in God has gone forth, so that we have no need to say anything.	8 Infatti da voi la parola di Dio si è divulgata, non solamente per la Macedonia e per l'Acaia, ma da perr tutto si è propagata anche la fama della fede che voi avete in Dio, e tanto che non abbiamo bisogno di parlarne;
9 For they themselves openly declare about us what sort of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God	9 perchè la gente stessa parla di noi, raccontantando in che modo siamo venuti da voi e come vi siete convertiti dagli idoli a Dio, per servire all'iddio vivo e vero,
10 and to await his Son from heaven, whom he raised from (the) dead, Jesus, who delivers us from the coming wrath.	10 e per aspettare dai cieli il suo Figliolo, che egli ha risuscitato da morte, Gesù, il quale ci ha salvati dall'ira ventura.
