1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the holy ones who are (in Ephesus) faithful in Christ Jesus:	1 Lettre de Paul, apôtre du Christ Jésus par décision de Dieu, aux saints qui vivent (à Éphèse), à tous ceux qui ont la foi chrétienne
2 grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.	2 Recevez grâce et paix de Dieu notre Père et du Christ Jésus le Seigneur.
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavens,	3 Béni soit Dieu, le Père du Christ Jésus notre Seigneur! Oui, il nous a donné dans les cieux, dans le Christ, toute bénédiction spirituelle.
4 as he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and without blemish before him. In love	4 En lui il nous a choisis avant la création du monde pour être devant lui saints et sans tache. Par amour

7 In him we have redemption by his blood, the forgiveness of transgressions, in accord with the riches of his grace	7 Rachetés par son sang, nous avons en lui le pardon de nos fautes, à la mesure même de la richesse de sa grâce,
8 that he lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight,	8 car elle a débordé sur nous. Ses dons de sagesse, d’intelligence,

11 In him we were also chosen, destined in accord with the purpose of the one who accomplishes all things according to the intention of his will,	11 C’est ainsi qu’en lui nous avons été choisis; Celui qui agit en tout selon sa libre volonté, avait en effet décidé de nous mettre à part.
12 so that we might exist for the praise of his glory, we who first hoped in Christ.	12 Nous devions porter cette attente du Messie, pour qu’en résulte à la fin la louange de sa gloire.
13 In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised holy Spirit,	13 Vous aussi, après avoir entendu la parole de vérité, l’Évangile qui vous sauve, vous avez cru en lui; en lui vous avez été marqués de l’Esprit Saint, cela même qu’il promettait.
14 which is the first installment of our inheritance toward redemption as God's possession, to the praise of his glory.	14 C’est là le premier acompte de notre héritage, dans l’attente d’une délivrance pour le peuple que Dieu s’est donné pour sa louange et pour sa gloire.
15 Therefore, I, too, hearing of your faith in the Lord Jesus and of your love for all the holy ones,	15 On m’a dit comment, dans le Christ Jésus, vous vivez la foi et l’amour pour tous les saints, (pour nos frères).
16 do not cease giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers,	16 Aussi je vous tiens présents dans mes prières et sans cesse je rends grâce pour vous.
17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation resulting in knowledge of him.	17 Que le Dieu de Jésus Christ, notre Seigneur, le Père qui est dans la Gloire, se révèle à vous et vous donne un esprit de sagesse pour le connaître en vérité.
18 May the eyes of (your) hearts be enlightened, that you may know what is the hope that belongs to his call, what are the riches of glory in his inheritance among the holy ones,	18 Qu’il illumine le regard de votre cœur! Vous saurez alors quelle espérance s’offre à vous à la suite de son appel, et quel riche héritage, quelle gloire il a réservée à ses saints,
19 and what is the surpassing greatness of his power for us who believe, in accord with the exercise of his great might,	19 et quelle force extraordinaire il met en œuvre pour nous qui croyons. C’est la même énergie toute-puissante
20 which he worked in Christ, raising him from the dead and seating him at his right hand in the heavens,	20 qui a agi dans le Christ quand il l’a ressuscité d’entre les morts et l’a fait siéger à sa droite dans le monde d’en-haut.
21 far above every principality, authority, power, and dominion, and every name that is named not only in this age but also in the one to come.	21 Il y est plus haut que toute Principauté, Autorité, Majesté ou Puissance (angéliques), au dessus de tout ce qui compte dans ce monde et dans l’autre.
22 And he put all things beneath his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,	22 Dieu a tout mis sous ses pieds, et a fait de lui, de façon spéciale, la tête de l’Église.
23 which is his body, the fullness of the one who fills all things in every way.	23 Elle est son corps, et en elle se déploie pleinement celui qui est tout en tous.
