1 But the souls of the just are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.	1 Las almas de los justos están en las manos de Dios, y no los afectará ningún tormento.
2 They seemed, in the view of the foolish, to be dead; and their passing away was thought an affliction	2 A los ojos de los insensatos parecían muertos; su partida de este mundo fue considerada una desgracia
3 and their going forth from us, utter destruction. But they are in peace.	3 y su alejamiento de nosotros, una completa destrucción; pero ellos están en paz.
4 For if before men, indeed, they be punished, yet is their hope full of immortality;	4 A los ojos de los hombres, ellos fueron castigados, pero su esperanza estaba colmada de inmortalidad.
5 Chastised a little, they shall be greatly blessed, because God tried them and found them worthy of himself.	5 Por una leve corrección, recibirán grandes beneficios, porque Dios los puso a prueba y los encontró dignos de él.
6 As gold in the furnace, he proved them, and as sacrificial offerings he took them to himself.	6 Los probó como oro en el crisol y los aceptó como un holocausto.
7 In the time of their visitation they shall shine, and shall dart about as sparks through stubble;	7 Por eso brillarán cuando Dios los visite, y se extenderán como chispas por los rastrojos.
8 They shall judge nations and rule over peoples, and the LORD shall be their King forever.	8 Juzgarán a las naciones y dominarán a los pueblos, y el Señor será su rey para siempre.
9 Those who trust in him shall understand truth, and the faithful shall abide with him in love: Because grace and mercy are with his holy ones, and his care is with the elect.	9 Los que confían en él comprenderán la verdad y los que le son fieles permanecerán junto a él en el amor. Porque la gracia y la misericordia son para sus elegidos.
10 But the wicked shall receive a punishment to match their thoughts, since they neglected justice and forsook the LORD.	10 Pero los impíos tendrán un castigo conforme a sus razonamientos, porque desdeñaron al justo y se apartaron del Señor.
11 For he who despises wisdom and instruction is doomed. Vain is their hope, fruitless are their labors, and worthless are their works.	11 El que desprecia la sabiduría y la enseñanza es un desdichado: ¡vana es su esperanza, inútiles sus esfuerzos, infructuosas sus obras!
12 Their wives are foolish and their children wicked; accursed is their brood.	12 ¡Sus mujeres son insensatas, sus hijos perversos y su descendencia maldita!
13 Yes, blessed is she who, childless and undefiled, knew not transgression of the marriage bed; she shall bear fruit at the visitation of souls.	13 ¡Feliz, en cambio, la mujer estéril que no se ha manchado, la que no tuvo relaciones ilícitas! Ella dará frutos cuando Dios visite las almas.
14 So also the eunuch whose hand wrought no misdeed, who held no wicked thoughts against the LORD- For he shall be given fidelity's choice reward and a more gratifying heritage in the LORD'S temple.	14 Feliz también el eunuco que no cometió ninguna iniquidad ni tuvo pensamientos perversos contra el Señor. por su fidelidad se le dará una gracia especial, una herencia muy deseable en el Templo del Señor.
15 For the fruit of noble struggles is a glorious one; and unfailing is the root of understanding.	15 Porque es glorioso el fruto de los trabajos honestos, e indefectible la raíz de la Sabiduría.
16 But the children of adulterers will remain without issue, and the progeny of an unlawful bed will disappear.	16 Pero los hijos de los adúlteros no llegarán a su madurez y la descendencia de una unión ilegítima desaparecerá.
17 For should they attain long life, they will be held in no esteem, and dishonored will their old age be at last;	17 Aunque vivan mucho tiempo, serán tenidos por nada, y al fin su vejez será deshonrosa;
18 While should they die abruptly, they have no hope nor comfort in the day of scrutiny;	18 si mueren pronto, no tendrán esperanza ni consuelo en el día del Discernimiento,
19 for dire is the end of the wicked generation.	19 porque es penoso el fin de una raza injusta.
