Proverbs 7

1 My son, keep my words, and treasure my commands.	1 Figlio mio, ritieni le mie parole, e fa tesoro dei miei precetti.
2 Keep my commands and live, my teaching as the apple of your eye;	2 Figlio, osserva i miei precetti e vivrai, custodisci la mia legge come la pupilla, del tuo occhio,
3 Bind them on your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart.	3 legatela alle dita, scrivila sulle tavole del tuo cuore.
4 Say to Wisdom, "You are my sister!" call Understanding, "Friend!"	4 Di' alla sapienza: « Tu sei mia sorella » e chiama tua amica la prudenza,
5 That they may keep you from another's wife, from the adulteress with her smooth words.	5 affinchè essa ti preservi dalla donna estranea, dalla forestiera che usa parole melate.
6 For at the window of my house, through my lattice I looked out--	6 Dalla finestra della mia casa io guardavo attraverso le persiane,
7 And I saw among the simple ones, I observed among the young men, a youth with no sense,	7 e vedo dei ragazzi, e noto un giovane insensato

16 With coverlets I have spread my couch, with brocaded cloths of Egyptian linen;	16 Ho steso sulle corde il mio letto, vi ho messo sopra screziate coperte d'Egitto.
17 I have sprinkled my bed with myrrh, with aloes, and with cinnamon.	17 Ho profumata la mia camera con mirra, aloe e cinnamomo.
18 "Come, let us drink our fill of love, until morning, let us feast on love!	18 Vieni, inebriamoci di amore, godiamo i desiderati amplessi finché non apparisca il giorno;
19 For my husband is not at home, he has gone on a long journey;	19 giacchè il marito non è in casa sua, e partito per lunghissimo viaggio,
20 A bag of money he took with him, not till the full moon will he return home."	20 aa preso seco un sacchetto di danaro, non tornerà che a luna piena ».
21 She wins him over by her repeated urging, with her smooth lips she leads him astray;	21 Colle molte parole lo tira nella rete, colle lusinghe delle labbra lo trascina.
22 He follows her stupidly, like an ox that is led to slaughter; Like a stag that minces toward the net,	22 Egli subito la segue come un bue condotto al macello, come agnello che scherza e non sa, lo stolto, che è menato alla catena,

24 So now, O children, listen to me, be attentive to the words of my mouth!	24 Or dunque, figlio mio, ascoltami, stai attento alle parole della mia bocca:
25 Let not your heart turn to her ways, go not astray in her paths;	25 Il tuo cuore non si lasci trascinare nelle vie di lei, non ti smarrire nei suoi sentieri;
26 For many are those she has struck down dead, numerous, those she has slain.	26 Che molti ne ha fatti cadere trafitti, ed anche i più forti furon da lei uccisi.
27 Her house is made up of ways to the nether world, leading down into the chambers of death.	27 La sua casa è la via dell'inferno, e discende negli abissi della morte.
