Psalms 69

2 Save me, God, for the waters have reached my neck.	2 Salvami, o Dio, poiché mi è giunta l'acqua fino alla gola.
3 I have sunk into the mire of the deep, where there is no foothold. I have gone down to the watery depths; the flood overwhelms me.	3 Sono immerso in un pantano profondo e non trovo alcun punto d'appoggio. Sono sprofondato in una voragine marina e la corrente mi stravolge.
4 I am weary with crying out; my throat is parched. My eyes have failed, looking for my God.	4 Sono spossato nel gridare; è riarsa la mia gola, i miei occhi si consumano per l'attesa del mio Dio.
5 More numerous than the hairs of my head are those who hate me without cause. Too many for my strength are my treacherous enemies. Must I now restore what I did not steal?	5 Sono in gran numero, più che i capelli del mio capo, quelli che mi odiano ingiustamente. Sono potenti i miei persecutori, i miei nemici bugiardi. Quello che io non ho affatto rubato dovrei ora restituire?
6 God, you know my folly; my faults are not hidden from you.	6 O Dio, la mia stoltezza tu la conosci e le mie colpe non ti sono nascoste.
7 Let those who wait for you, LORD of hosts, not be shamed through me. Let those who seek you, God of Israel, not be disgraced through me	7 Non rimangano confusi per causa mia quelli che sperano in te, Signore delle schiere, non arrossisca per causa mia chi cerca te, Dio d'Israele.
8 For your sake I bear insult, shame covers my face.	8 Sì, a causa tua sopporto l'obbrobrio e il mio volto s'è coperto d'ignominia.
9 I have become an outcast to my kin, a stranger to my mother's children.	9 Sono un estraneo per i miei fratelli, un forestiero per i figli di mia madre.
10 Because zeal for your house consumes me, I am scorned by those who scorn you.	10 Poiché lo zelo per la tua casa mi ha divorato e gli oltraggi di quanti t'insultano sono caduti sopra di me.
11 I have wept and fasted, but this led only to scorn.	11 Mi sono estenuato nel digiuno ed è stata un'infamia per me;
12 I clothed myself in sackcloth; I became a byword for them.	12 ho indossato per vestito un sacco e sono diventato il loro scherno.
13 They who sit at the gate gossip about me; drunkards make me the butt of their songs.	13 Sparlano di me quelli che siedono alla porta e sono diventato la canzone degli ubriachi.
14 But I pray to you, LORD, for the time of your favor. God, in your great kindness answer me with your constant help.	14 Ma io... a te volgo, Signore, la mia preghiera; possa essere questo, o Dio, un tempo di grazia. Nella tua grande bontà esaudiscimi, o Dio, per la fedeltà della tua salvezza.
15 Rescue me from the mire; do not let me sink. Rescue me from my enemies and from the watery depths.	15 Estraimi dal fango, che io non sprofondi, che sia strappato da quelli che mi odiano, e dagli abissi delle acque.
16 Do not let the floodwaters overwhelm me, nor the deep swallow me, nor the mouth of the pit close over me.	16 Non mi sommerga la corrente delle acque, non m'inghiottisca il pantano e la voragine non chiuda su di me la sua bocca.
17 Answer me, LORD, in your generous love; in your great mercy turn to me.	17 Esaudiscimi, o Signore, poiché è dolce la tua misericordia; secondo la tua grande pietà volgi a me il tuo sguardo.
18 Do not hide your face from your servant; in my distress hasten to answer me.	18 Non nascondere il volto dal tuo servo, poiché l'angoscia mi stringe; fa' presto, rispondimi!
19 Come and ransom my life; because of my enemies redeem me.	19 Avvicìnati all'anima mia e riscattala, in vista dei miei nemici, redimimi.
20 You know my reproach, my shame, my disgrace; before you stand all my foes.	20 Tu conosci la mia infamia, la mia vergogna e il mio disonore; davanti a te sono tutti i miei nemici.
21 Insult has broken my heart, and I am weak; I looked for compassion, but there was none, for comforters, but found none.	21 L'obbrobrio ha spezzato il mio cuore e mi sento venir meno. Ho sperato in un conforto, ma invano; ho aspettato che qualcuno mi consolasse, ma non l'ho trovato.
22 Instead they put gall in my food; for my thirst they gave me vinegar.	22 Invece mi hanno dato fiele per cibo e per bevanda mi hanno offerto aceto.
23 Make their own table a snare for them, a trap for their friends.	23 Si muti la loro mensa in un laccio davanti a loro e i loro banchetti in un tranello.
24 Make their eyes so dim they cannot see; keep their backs ever feeble.	24 Si offuschino i loro occhi, così che non vedano, e fa' sì che venga meno per sempre il vigore dei loro lombi.
25 Pour out your wrath upon them; let the fury of your anger overtake them.	25 Effondi su di loro la tua ira e li raggiunga l'ardore del tuo sdegno.
26 Make their camp desolate, with none to dwell in their tents.	26 Diventi un deserto il loro accampamento, non si trovi alcuno che abiti nelle loro tende.
27 For they pursued the one you struck, added to the pain of the one you wounded.	27 Poiché essi hanno perseguitato colui che tu avevi colpito, hanno aggravato il dolore di quelli che da te erano stati feriti.
28 Add that to their crimes; let them not attain to your reward.	28 Aggiungi colpa alla loro colpa, così che non giungano alla tua giustizia.
29 Strike them from the book of the living; do not count them among the just!	29 Siano cancellati dal libro dei viventi e con i giusti non vengano iscritti.
30 But I am afflicted and in pain; let your saving help protect me, God,	30 Ora, io sono misero e sofferente: la tua salvezza, o Dio, mi darà sollievo.
31 That I may praise God's name in song and glorify it with thanksgiving.	31 Voglio lodare con il canto il nome di Dio ed esaltarlo con azioni di grazie.
32 My song will please the LORD more than oxen, more than bullocks with horns and hooves:	32 Ciò sarà gradito al Signore più che un giovenco, più che un torello che mette corna e unghie.
33 "See, you lowly ones, and be glad; you who seek God, take heart!	33 Mirate, o umili, e rallegratevi, e voi che cercate Dio, si ravvivi il vostro cuore.
34 For the LORD hears the poor, does not spurn those in bondage.	34 Poiché il Signore ascolta gli umili e i suoi prigionieri non disprezza.
35 Let the heavens and the earth sing praise, the seas and whatever moves in them!"	35 Lo lodino i cieli e la terra, i mari e quanto in essi si muove.
36 God will rescue Zion, rebuild the cities of Judah. God's servants shall dwell in the land and possess it;	36 Dio darà salvezza a Sion ed edificherà le città di Giuda; là abiteranno e ne avranno il possesso.
37 7) it shall be the heritage of their descendants; those who love God's name shall dwell there.	37 La stirpe dei suoi servi ne avrà l'eredità e quanti amano il suo nome vi prenderanno dimora.
