Psalms 107

1 "Give thanks to the LORD who is good, whose love endures forever!"	1 ¡Den gracias al Señor, porque es bueno, porque es eterno su amor!
2 Let that be the prayer of the LORD'S redeemed, those redeemed from the hand of the foe,	2 Que lo digan los redimidos por el Señor, los que él rescató del poder del enemigo
3 Those gathered from foreign lands, from east and west, from north and south.	3 y congregó de todas las regiones: del norte y del sur, del oriente y el occidente;
4 Some had lost their way in a barren desert; found no path toward a city to live in.	4 los que iban errantes por el desierto solitario, sin hallar el camino hacia un lugar habitable.
5 They were hungry and thirsty; their life was ebbing away.	5 Estaban hambrientos, tenían sed y ya les faltaba el aliento;
6 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who rescued them in their peril,	6 pero en la angustia invocaron al Señor, y él los libró de sus tribulaciones:
7 Guided them by a direct path so they reached a city to live in.	7 los llevó por el camino recto, y así llegaron a un lugar habitable.
8 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	8 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas en favor de los hombres,
9 For he satisfied the thirsty, filled the hungry with good things.	9 porque él sació a los que sufrían sed y colmó de bienes a los hambrientos.
10 Some lived in darkness and gloom, in prison, bound with chains,	10 Estaban en tinieblas, entre sombras de muerte, encadenados y en la miseria,
11 Because they rebelled against God's word, scorned the counsel of the Most High,	11 por haber desafiado las órdenes de Dios y despreciado el designio del Altísimo.
12 Who humbled their hearts through hardship; they stumbled with no one to help.	12 El los había agobiado con sufrimientos, sucumbían, y nadie los ayudaba;
13 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who saved them in their peril,	13 pero en la angustia invocaron al Señor, y él los libró de sus tribulaciones:
14 Led them forth from darkness and gloom and broke their chains asunder.	14 los sacó de las tinieblas y las sombras, e hizo pedazos sus cadenas.
15 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	15 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas en favor de los hombres,
16 For he broke down the gates of bronze and snapped the bars of iron.	16 porque él destrozó las puertas de bronce y quebró los cerrojos de hierro.
17 Some fell sick from their wicked ways, afflicted because of their sins.	17 Estaban debilitados y oprimidos, a causa de sus rebeldías y sus culpas;
18 They loathed all manner of food; they were at the gates of death.	18 la comida les daba náuseas, y ya tocaban las puertas de la muerte.
19 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who saved them in their peril,	19 Pero en la angustia invocaron al Señor, y él los libró de sus tribulaciones:
20 Sent forth the word to heal them, snatched them from the grave.	20 envió su palabra y los sanó, salvó sus vidas del sepulcro.
21 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	21 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas en favor de los hombres:
22 Let them offer a sacrifice in thanks, declare his works with shouts of joy.	22 ofrézcanle sacrificios de acción de gracias y proclamen con júbilo sus obras.
23 Some went off to sea in ships, plied their trade on the deep waters.	23 Los que viajaron en barco por el mar, para traficar por las aguas inmensas,
24 They saw the works of the LORD, the wonders of God in the deep.	24 contemplaron las obras del Señor, sus maravillas en el océano profundo.
25 He spoke and roused a storm wind; it tossed the waves on high.	25 Con su palabra desató un vendaval, que encrespaba las olas del océano:
26 They rose up to the heavens, sank to the depths; their hearts trembled at the danger.	26 ellos subían hasta el cielo, bajaban al abismo, se sentían desfallecer por el mareo,
27 They reeled, staggered like drunkards; their skill was of no avail.	27 se tambaleaban dando tumbos como ebrios, y su pericia no les valía de nada.
28 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who brought them out of their peril,	28 Pero en la angustia invocaron al Señor, y él los libró de sus tribulaciones:
29 Hushed the storm to a murmur; the waves of the sea were stilled.	29 cambió el huracán en una brisa suave y se aplacaron las olas del mar;
30 They rejoiced that the sea grew calm, that God brought them to the harbor they longed for.	30 entonces se alegraron de aquella calma, y el Señor los condujo al puerto deseado.
31 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	31 Den gracias al Señor por su misericordia y por sus maravillas en favor de los hombres:
32 Let them praise him in the assembly of the people, give thanks in the council of the elders.	32 aclámenlo en la asamblea del pueblo, alábenlo en el consejo de los ancianos.
33 God changed rivers into desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,	33 El hizo de los ríos un desierto y de los oasis, una tierra estéril;
34 Fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of its people.	34 transformó el suelo fértil en una salina, por la maldad de sus habitantes.
35 He changed the desert into pools of water, arid land into springs of water,	35 Convirtió el desierto en un lago, y la tierra reseca en un oasis:
36 And settled the hungry there; they built a city to live in.	36 allí puso a los hambrientos, y ellos fundaron una ciudad habitable.
37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards, brought in an abundant harvest.	37 Sembraron campos y plantaron viñas, que produjeron frutos en las cosechas;
38 God blessed them, they became very many, and their livestock did not decrease.	38 él los bendijo y se multiplicaron, y no dejó que les faltara el ganado.
39 Where they were diminished and brought low through misery and cruel oppression,	39 Cuando eran pocos, y estaban abatidos por el peso de la desgracia y la aflicción,
40 But he poured out contempt on princes, made them wander the trackless wastes,	40 el que cubre de vergüenza a los príncipes y los extravía por un desierto sin huellas,
41 While the poor were released from their affliction; their families increased like their flocks.	41 levantó a los pobres de la miseria y multiplicó sus familias como rebaños.
42 The upright saw this and rejoiced; all wickedness shut its mouth.	42 Que los justos lo vean y se alegren, y enmudezcan todos los malvados.
43 Whoever is wise will take note of these things, will ponder the merciful deeds of the LORD.	43 El que es sabio, que retenga estas cosas y comprenda la misericordia del Señor.
