1 "Give thanks to the LORD who is good, whose love endures forever!"	1 ¡Aleluya! Dad gracias a Yahveh, porque es bueno, porque es eterno su amor.
2 Let that be the prayer of the LORD'S redeemed, those redeemed from the hand of the foe,	2 Que lo digan los redimidos de Yahveh, los que él ha redimido del poder del adversario,
3 Those gathered from foreign lands, from east and west, from north and south.	3 los que ha reunido de entre los países, de oriente y de poniente, del norte y mediodía.
4 Some had lost their way in a barren desert; found no path toward a city to live in.	4 En el desierto erraban, por la estepa, no encontraban camino de ciudad habitada;
5 They were hungry and thirsty; their life was ebbing away.	5 hambrientos, y sedientos, desfallecía en ellos su alma.
6 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who rescued them in their peril,	6 Y hacia Yahveh gritaron en su apuro, y él los libró de sus angustias,
7 Guided them by a direct path so they reached a city to live in.	7 les condujo por camino recto, hasta llegar a ciudad habitada.
8 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	8 ¡Den gracias a Yahveh por su amor, por sus prodigios con los hijos de Adán!
9 For he satisfied the thirsty, filled the hungry with good things.	9 Porque él sació el alma anhelante, el alma hambrienta saturó de bienes.
10 Some lived in darkness and gloom, in prison, bound with chains,	10 Habitantes de tiniebla y sombra, cautivos de la miseria y de los hierros,
11 Because they rebelled against God's word, scorned the counsel of the Most High,	11 por haber sido rebeldes a las órdenes de Dios y haber despreciado el consejo del Altísimo,
12 Who humbled their hearts through hardship; they stumbled with no one to help.	12 él sometió su corazón a la fatiga, sucumbían, y no había quien socorriera.
13 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who saved them in their peril,	13 Y hacia Yahveh gritaron en su apuro, y él los salvó de sus angustias,
14 Led them forth from darkness and gloom and broke their chains asunder.	14 los sacó de la tiniebla y de la sombra, y rompió sus cadenas.
15 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	15 ¡Den gracias a Yahveh por su amor, por sus prodigios con los hijos de Adán!
16 For he broke down the gates of bronze and snapped the bars of iron.	16 Pues las puertas de bronce quebrantó, y los barrotes de hierro hizo pedazos.
17 Some fell sick from their wicked ways, afflicted because of their sins.	17 Embotados de resultas de sus yerros, miserables a causa de sus culpas,
18 They loathed all manner of food; they were at the gates of death.	18 todo manjar les daba náusea, tocaban ya a las puertas de la muerte.
19 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who saved them in their peril,	19 Y hacia Yahveh gritaron en su apuro, y él los salvó de sus angustias;
20 Sent forth the word to heal them, snatched them from the grave.	20 su palabra envió para sanarlos y arrancar sus vidas de la fosa.
21 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	21 ¡Den gracias a Yahveh por su amor, por sus prodigios con los hijos de Adán!
22 Let them offer a sacrifice in thanks, declare his works with shouts of joy.	22 Ofrezcan sacrificios de acción de gracias, y sus obras pregonen con gritos de alegría.
23 Some went off to sea in ships, plied their trade on the deep waters.	23 Los que a la mar se hicieron en sus naves, llevando su negocio por las muchas aguas,
24 They saw the works of the LORD, the wonders of God in the deep.	24 vieron las obras de Yahveh, sus maravillas en el piélago.
25 He spoke and roused a storm wind; it tossed the waves on high.	25 Dijo, y suscitó un viento de borrasca, que entumeció las olas;
26 They rose up to the heavens, sank to the depths; their hearts trembled at the danger.	26 subiendo hasta los cielos, bajando hasta el abismo, bajo el peso del mal su alma se hundía;
27 They reeled, staggered like drunkards; their skill was of no avail.	27 dando vuelcos, vacilando como un ebrio, tragada estaba toda su pericia.
28 In their distress they cried to the LORD, who brought them out of their peril,	28 Y hacia Yahveh gritaron en su apuro, y él los sacó de sus angustias;
29 Hushed the storm to a murmur; the waves of the sea were stilled.	29 a silencio redujo la borrasca, y las olas callaron.
30 They rejoiced that the sea grew calm, that God brought them to the harbor they longed for.	30 Se alegraron de verlas amansarse, y él los llevó hasta el puerto deseado.
31 Let them thank the LORD for such kindness, such wondrous deeds for mere mortals.	31 ¡Den gracias a Yahveh por su amor, por sus prodigios con los hijos de Adán!
32 Let them praise him in the assembly of the people, give thanks in the council of the elders.	32 ¡Ensálcenle en la asamblea del pueblo, en el concejo de los ancianos le celebren!
33 God changed rivers into desert, springs of water into thirsty ground,	33 El cambia los ríos en desierto, y en suelo de sed los manantiales,
34 Fruitful land into a salty waste, because of the wickedness of its people.	34 la tierra fértil en salinas, por la malicia de sus habitantes.
35 He changed the desert into pools of water, arid land into springs of water,	35 Y él cambia el desierto en un estanque, y la árida tierra en manantial.
36 And settled the hungry there; they built a city to live in.	36 Allí asienta a los hambrientos, y ellos fundan una ciudad habitada.
37 They sowed fields and planted vineyards, brought in an abundant harvest.	37 Y siembran campos, plantan viñas, que producen sus frutos de cosecha.
38 God blessed them, they became very many, and their livestock did not decrease.	38 El los bendice y crecen mucho y no deja que mengüen sus ganados.
39 Where they were diminished and brought low through misery and cruel oppression,	39 Menguados estaban, y abatidos por la tenaza del mal y la aflicción.
40 But he poured out contempt on princes, made them wander the trackless wastes,	40 El que vierte desprecio sobre príncipes, los hacía errar por caos sin camino.
41 While the poor were released from their affliction; their families increased like their flocks.	41 Mas él recobra de la miseria al pobre, aumenta como un rebaño las familias;
42 The upright saw this and rejoiced; all wickedness shut its mouth.	42 los hombres rectos lo ven y se recrean, y toda iniquidad cierra su boca.
43 Whoever is wise will take note of these things, will ponder the merciful deeds of the LORD.	43 ¿Hay algún sabio? ¡Que garde estas cosas, y comprenda el amor de Yahveh!
