Job 26

NEW AMERICAN BIBLEBIBLIA
Then Job spoke again and said:1 Job tomó la palabra y dijo:
What help you give to the powerless, what strength to the feeble arm!2 ¡Qué bien has sostenido al débil y socorrido al brazo inválido!
How you counsel, as though he had no wisdom; how profuse is the advice you offer!3 ¡Qué bien has aconsejado al ignorante, qué hábil talento has demostrado!
With whose help have you uttered those words, and whose is the breath that comes forth from you?4 ¿A quién has dirigido tus discursos, y de quién es el espíritu que ha salido de ti?
The shades beneath writhe in terror, the waters, and their inhabitants.5 Las Sombras tiemblan bajo tierra, las aguas y sus habitantes se estremecen.
Naked before him is the nether world, and Abaddon has no covering.6 Ante él, el Seol está al desnudo, la Perdición al descubierto.
He stretches out the North over empty space, and suspends the earth over nothing at all;7 El extiende el Septentrión sobre el vacío, sobre la nada suspende la tierra.
He binds up the waters in his clouds, yet the cloud is not rent by their weight;8 El encierra las aguas en sus nubes, sin que bajo su peso el nublado reviente.
He holds back the appearance of the full moon by spreading his clouds before it.9 El encubre la cara de la luna llena, desplegando sobre ella su nublado.
He has marked out a circle on the surface of the deep as the boundary of light and darkness.10 El trazó un cerco sobre la haz de las aguas, hasta el confín de la luz con las tinieblas,
The pillars of the heavens tremble and are stunned at his thunderous rebuke;11 Se tambalean las columnas del cielo, presas de terror a su amenaza.
By his power he stirs up the sea, and by his might he crushes Rahab;12 Con su poder hendió la mar, con su destreza quebró a Ráhab.
With his angry breath he scatters the waters, and he hurls the lightning against them relentlessly; His hand pierces the fugitive dragon as from his hand it strives to flee.13 Su soplo abrillantó los cielos, su mano traspasó a la Serpiente Huidiza,
Lo, these are but the outlines of his ways, and how faint is the word we hear!14 Estos son los contornos de sus obras, de que sólo percibimos un apagado eco. Y el trueno de su potencia, ¿quién lo captará?
