1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.	1 Foi para gozarmos desta liberdade que Cristo nos libertou. Permanecei firmes e não vos deixeis prender de novo ao jugo da escravidão (da lei antiga).
2 Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing.	2 Eis que eu, Paulo, vos digo que, se vos fazeis circuncidar, Cristo não vos aproveitará nada.
3 For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.	3 Declaro de novo a todo o homem que se circuncida, que está obrigado a guardar toda a lei.
4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.	4 Não tendes nada de comum com Cristo, vós que procurais a justificação na lei: decaístes da graça.
5 For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.	5 Quanto a nós, é do Espirito pela fé que aguardamos a esperança da justiça.
6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.	6 Porque, em Jesus Cristo, nem a circuncisão vale coisa alguma nem a incircuncisão, mas sim a fé que obra (animada) pela caridade.
7 Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?	7 Vós corríeis bem (na vida cristã ); quem vos impediu de obedecer à verdade?
8 This persuasion cometh not of him that calleth you.	8 Esta persuasão (em que estais de que a circuncisão é necessária) não vem daquele que vos chama.
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.	9 Um pouco de fermento altera toda a massa.
10 I have confidence in you through the Lord, that ye will be none otherwise minded: but he that troubleth you shall bear his judgment, whosoever he be.	10 Eu confio de vós, no Senhor, que não tereis outros sentimentos; mas aquele que vos perturba, quem quer que ele seja, sofrerá a condenação.
11 And I, brethren, if I yet preach circumcision, why do I yet suffer persecution? then is the offence of the cross ceased.	11 Quanto a mim, irmãos, se ainda prego a circuncisão (como falsamente dizem os que vos seduzem), por que sou ainda perseguido. Logo, cessou o escândalo da cruz!
12 I would they were even cut off which trouble you.	12 Oxalá que fossem mesmo mutilados os que vos perturbam.
13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.	13 Vós, irmãos, fostes chamados à liberdade; convém somente que não façais desta liberdade um pretexto para viver segundo a carne, mas servi-vos uns aos outros pela caridade,
14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.	14 porque toda a lei se encerra nesta palavra: Amarás o teu próximo como a ti mesmo (Lv. 19, 18).
15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.	15 Se vós, porém, vos mordeis e vos devorais uns aos outros (como fazem as feras), vede não vos consumais uns aos outros.
16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.	16 Digo-vos pois: andai segundo o Espírito (de Deus) e não satisfareis os desejos da carne.
17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.	17 Efetivamente, a carne tem desejos contrários ao espírito, e o espírito desejos contrários à carne: estas coisas (a carne e o espirito) são contrárias entre si, para que não façais tudo aquilo que quereis.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.	18 Se, porém, sois guiados pelo Espírito, não estais debaixo da lei.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,	19 Ora as obras da carne são manifestas: são a fornicação, a impureza, a luxúria,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,	20 a idolatria os malefícios, as inimizades, as contendas, as invejas, as iras, as rixas, as discórdias, as seitas,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.	21 os ciúmes, a embriaguez, as glutonerias e outras coisas semelhantes, sobre as quais vos previno, como já vos disse, que os que as praticam não possuirão o reino de Deus,
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,	22 Ao contrário, o fruto do Espírito é caridade, gozo, paz, longanimidade, afabilidade, bondade, fidelidade,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.	23 mansidão, temperança. Contra estas coisas não há Lei.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.	24 Os que são de Cristo crucificaram a sua carne com suas paixões e concupiscências.
25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.	25 Se vivemos pelo Espirito, conduzamo-nos também pelo Espírito.
26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.	26 Não nos façamos ávidos da vanglória, provocando-nos uns aos outros e tendo inveja uns dos outros.
