1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.	1 Então Jesus foi conduzido pelo Espírito (Santo) ao deserto, para ser tentado pelo demônio.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.	2 Jejuou quarenta dias e quarenta noites, depois teve fome.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.	3 E, aproximando-se dele o tentador, disse-lhe: "Se és Filho de Deus, diz que estas pedras se convertam em pães."
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.	4 Jesus respondeu: "Está escrito: Não só de pão vive o homem, mas de toda a palavra que sai da boca de Deus (Dt. 8, 3)."
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,	5 Então o demónio transportou-o à cidade santa, pô-lo sobre o pináculo do templo,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.	6 e disse-lhe: "Se és Filho de Deus. lança-te daqui abaixo, porque está escrito: Mandou aos seus anjos em teu favor, eles te levarão nas suas mãos, para que o teu pé não tropece em alguma pedra (Ps. 90, 11-12)."
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.	7 Jesus disse-lhe: "Também está escrito: Não tentarás o Senhor teu Deus (Dt. 6, 16)."
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;	8 De novo o demônio o transportou a um monte muito alto, e lhe mostrou todos os reinos do mundo e a sua magnificência,
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.	9 e lhe disse: "Tudo isto te darei, se, prostrado, me adorares."
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.	10 Então Jesus disse-lhe: "Vai-te, Satanás, porque está escrito: O Senhor teu Deus adorarás, e a ele só servirás (Dt. 6, 13)."
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.	11 Então o demónio deixou-o; e eis que os anjos se aproximaram, e o serviram.
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;	12 Tendo (Jesus) ouvido que João fora preso, retirou-se para a Galileia.
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:	13 Depois, deixando Nazaré, foi habitar em Cafarnaum, situada junto do mar, nos confins de Zabulon e Neftali,
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,	14 cumprindo-se o que tinha sido anunciado pelo profeta Isaías, quando disse (Is. 8,23, Is. 9, 1);
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;	15 Terra de Zabulon e terra de Neftali, terra que confina com o mar, pais além do Jordão, Galileia dos gentios!
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.	16 Este povo, que jazia nas trevas, viu uma grande luz; e uma luz levantou-se para os que jaziam na sombra da morte.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.	17 Desde então, começou Jesus a pregar: "Fazei penitência, porque está próximo o reino dos céus."
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.	18 Caminhando ao longo do mar da Galileia, viu dois irmãos, Simão, chamado Pedro, e, André, seu irmão, que lançavam a rede ao mar, pois eram pescadores.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.	19 "Segui-me, lhes disse, e eu vos farei pescadores de homens."
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.	20 E eles, imediatamente, deixadas as redes, o seguiram.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.	21 Passando adiante, viu outros dois irmãos, Tiago, filho de Zebedeu, e João, seu irmão, que estavam numa barca juntamente com seu pai Zebedeu, consertando se suas redes, e chamou-os.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.	22 Eles, imediatamente, deixando a barca e o pai, o seguiram.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.	23 Jesus percorria toda a Galileia, ensinando nas sinagogas, e pregando o Evangelho do reino (de Deus), e curando todas as enfermidades entre o povo.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.	24 A sua fama espalhou-se por toda a Síria, e trouxeram-lhe todos os que tinham algum mal, possuídos de vários achaques e dores: possessos, lunáticos, paralíticos; e curava-os.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.	25 Seguiram-no grandes multidões (de povo) da Galileia, da Decápole, de Jerusalém, da Judeia e de além do Jordão.
