1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.	1 - Gesù venne condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto per essere tentato dal diavolo.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.	2 Dopo aver digiunato per quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, ebbe fame.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.	3 Il tentatore, avvicinatosi, gli disse: «Se tu sei il Figlio di Dio, comanda a queste pietre di trasformarsi in pane».
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.	4 Gesù gli rispose: «Sta scritto: " Non di solo pane vive l'uomo, ma d'ogni parola che esce dalla bocca di Dio "».
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,	5 Allora il diavolo lo trasportò nella città santa e, postolo sul pinnacolo del tempio,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.	6 gli disse: «Se tu sei il Figlio di Dio, gettati giù di qui, perchè sta scritto: " Egli ha dato per te ordini ai suoi angeli, i quali ti sosterranno sulle loro mani, affinchè il tuo piede non urti contro la pietra "».
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.	7 Gesù gli rispose: «Sta scritto: " Non tentare il Signore Dio tuo "».
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;	8 Di nuovo il diavolo lo portò su di un monte assai elevato e mostrandogli tutti i regni della terra e la loro magnificenza,
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.	9 gli disse: «Tutte queste cose io ti darò se, prostrandoti davanti a me, mi adorerai».
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.	10 Ma Gesù gli rispose: «Va' via, Satana; poichè sta scritto: "Adora il Signore Dio tuo e servi a lui solo"».
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.	11 Allora il diavolo si allontanò da lui, mentre gli angeli gli s'accostarono e lo servivano.
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;	12 Gesù, udito che Giovanni era stato messo in prigione, si ritirò nella Galilea
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:	13 e, lasciata Nazaret, venne ad abitare a Cafarnao, sulla riva del mare, ai confini di Zabulon e di Neftali,
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,	14 perchè si adempisse quanto era stato detto dal profeta Isaia:
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;	15 «Terra di Zabulon e terra di Neftali, via del mare, al di là del Giordano, Galilea dei Gentili,
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.	16 il popolo che giaceva nelle tenebre ha veduto una gran luce; e per gli abitanti nella regione dell'ombra della morte s'è levata una luce».
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.	17 Da quel momento Gesù cominciò a predicare e a dire: «Fate penitenza, perchè il regno dei cieli è vicino».
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.	18 Camminando Gesù lungo il mare di Galilea, vide due fratelli, Simone, chiamato poi Pietro, e Andrea suo fratello, che gettavano in mare le reti, perchè eran pescatori.
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.	19 Disse loro: «Venite dietro a me ed io vi farò diventare pescatori di uomini».
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.	20 Ed essi, lasciate le reti, immediatamente lo seguirono.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.	21 Andando oltre vide altri due fratelli, Giacomo, figlio di Zebedeo e Giovanni suo fratello, in una barca col loro padre Zebedeo, mentre raccomodavano le reti, e li chiamò.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.	22 Anch'essi lasciate lì le reti e il padre, subito lo seguirono.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.	23 Gesù se ne andava attorno per tutta la Galilea, insegnando nelle loro sinagoghe, annunziando il vangelo del regno, e risanando ogni malattia e infermità tra il popolo.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.	24 La sua fama si sparse così in tutta la Siria; e gli presentarono tutti gl'infermi, gli affetti da varie malattie e sofferenze, gl'indemoniati i lunatici e i paralitici ed egli li guariva.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.	25 E lo seguirono grandi folle dalla Galilea, dalla Decapoli, da Gerusalemme, dalla Giudea e dai paesi oltre il Giordano.
