1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.	1 Allora Gesù fu condotto dallo Spirito nel deserto per essere tentato dal diavolo.
2 And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.	2 E dopo aver digiunato quaranta giorni e quaranta notti, finalmente ebbe fame.
3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.	3 E il tentatore, accostandosi disse: Se tu sei Figlio di Dio, di' che queste pietre diventino pani.
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.	4 Ma Gesù rispose: Sta scritto: Non di solo pane vive l'uomo, ma di ogni parola che procede dalla bocca di Dio.
5 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,	5 Allora il diavolo lo trasportò nella città santa e avendolo posto sul pinnacolo del tempio,
6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.	6 gli disse: Se tu sei Figlio di Dio, gettati di sotto, poiché sta scritto che agli angeli suoi ha commesso la cura di te, ti porteranno nelle mani, affinchè non inciampi il tuo piede in qualche pietra.
7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.	7 E Gesù a lui: Sta anche scritto: Non tenterai il Signore Dio tuo.
8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;	8 Di nuovo il diavolo lo menò sopra un monte altissimo, e mostrandogli tutti i regni del mondo e la loro magnificenza,
9 And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.	9 gli disse: Tutto questo io ti darò, se prostrandoti, mi adorerai.
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.	10 Allora Gesù rispose: Va' via, satana, chè sta scritto: Adorerai il Signore Dio tuo e servirai a lui solo.
11 Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.	11 Allora il diavolo lo lasciò, ed ecco gli angeli vennero a servirlo.
12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;	12 Or Gesù, avendo udito che Giovanni era stato messo in prigione, si ritirò in Galilea;
13 And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim:	13 e, lasciata la città di Nazaret, andò ad abitare a Cafarnao, sulla riva del mare, ai confini di Zàbulon e di Neftali;
14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying,	14 affinchè si adempisse quello che era stato detto dal profeta Isaia:
15 The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles;	15 La terra di Zàbulon e quella di Neftali, la via del mare oltre il Giordano, la Galilea delle Genti,
16 The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.	16 il popolo che giaceva nelle tenebre ha vista una gran luce; per coloro che giacevano nella regione e nell'ombra della morte la luce è spuntata.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.	17 D'allora incominciò Gesù a predicare e a dire: Fate penitenza, chè il regno dei cieli è vicino.
18 And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.	18 E camminando lungo il mare di Galilea, Gesù vide due fratelli: Simone detto Pietro e Andrea, suo fratello, che gettavano in mare la rete, (erano pescatori).
19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.	19 E disse loro: Venite dietro a me e vi farò pescatori d'uomini.
20 And they straightway left their nets, and followed him.	20 Ed essi, lasciate subito le reti, lo seguirono.
21 And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.	21 E di lì andando innanzi, vide due altri fratelli: Giacomo di Zebedeo e Giovanni suo fratello, in una barca, con Zebedeo loro padre, a rassettar le reti, e li chiamò.
22 And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.	22 Ed essi, lasciate subito le reti ed il padre, lo seguirono.
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.	23 E Gesù andava attorno per tutta la Galilea insegnando in quelle sinagoghe e predicando il vangelo del regno e sanando ogni languore ed ogni infermità nel popolo.
24 And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.	24 E si sparse la fama di lui per tutta la Siria: e gli presentarono tutti quelli che avevan male; gli afflitti da dolori e da malattie diverse, indemoniati, lunatici, paralitici; e li risanò.
25 And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.	25 E lo seguirono numerose turbe dalla Galilea, dalla Decapoli, da Gerusalemme, dalla Giudea e d'oltre il Giordano.
