1 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.	1 Au maître de chant. Sur l’air “les lys…”. De David.
2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.	2 Ô Dieu, sauve-moi, les eaux m’arrivent jusqu’à la gorge.
3 I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.	3 Je suis pris dans la boue du gouffre et rien pour m’appuyer. J’ai glissé jusqu’aux eaux profondes et le flot me submerge.
4 They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.	4 Je m’épuise à crier, j’en ai la gorge en fièvre. J’ai les yeux fatigués d’attendre mon Dieu.
5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.	5 Partout des ennemis à qui je n’ai rien fait, il y en a plus que de cheveux sur ma tête! Ils sont plus forts que moi, ceux qui sans raison me haïssent: comment puis-je rendre ce que je n’ai pas pris?
6 Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.	6 Mais toi, ô Dieu, tu sais si j’ai fauté, mes erreurs ne te sont pas cachées.
7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.	7 Ne déçois pas à mon sujet ceux qui espèrent en toi, Seigneur, Dieu Sabaot; n’humilie pas à cause de moi ceux qui te cherchent, ô Dieu d’Israël.
8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.	8 C’est pour toi que j’ai connu les affronts et que la honte me couvre le visage.
9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.	9 Je suis devenu un étranger pour mes frères, un inconnu pour les fils de ma mère.
10 When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.	10 Un amour jaloux pour ta Maison me dévore, m’attire les insultes de ceux qui t’insultent.
11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.	11 Si je fais pénitence, si je jeûne, cela me vaut des affronts.
12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.	12 Si je revêts le sac, on s’amuse de moi.
13 But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.	13 Je fais rire les gens qui traînent sur la place, les habitués du vin ont un sujet de chanson.
14 Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.	14 Mais je reste à te prier, mon Dieu, que vienne l’heure de ton bon vouloir. Aie pitié de moi dans ta grande bonté, sauve-moi, toi qui es fidèle.
15 Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.	15 Tire-moi de la boue, que je n’enfonce pas, fais-moi échapper à l’orage comme aux eaux profondes.
16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.	16 Que le flot ne vienne à me recouvrir, que le tourbillon ne me submerge, que le puits ne referme pas sur moi sa bouche.
17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.	17 Réponds-moi, Seigneur, ta grâce apporte le bienfait, tourne vers moi le visage de ta miséricorde.
18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.	18 Ne cache pas ta face à ton serviteur, tu me vois dans l’angoisse, hâte-toi de me répondre.
19 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.	19 Délivre-moi de tant d’ennemis, viens assez près pour leur reprendre ma vie.
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.	20 Tu connais mes adversaires et tu sais mes humiliations;
21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.	21 tant d’affronts m’ont brisé le cœur, ma honte et ma confusion sont sans remède. J’attendais de la compassion, mais rien; quelqu’un qui me réconforte: personne n’a bougé.
22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.	22 Ils ont mis du poison dans mes aliments, et pour ma soif ils m’ont versé du vinaigre.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.	23 Que leur banquet se termine en trahison, qu’on leur tende le piège au repas du sacrifice.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.	24 Qu’ils perdent la vue et restent dans le noir, condamne-les à marcher tout courbés.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.	25 Déverse sur eux ta fureur, que le feu de ta colère les rejoigne.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.	26 Que leur enclos soit laissé dévasté et leur tente sans habitants.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.	27 Car ils ont persécuté celui que tu frappais, ils ont rajouté aux douleurs de ta victime.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.	28 Aussi vas-tu les charger de fautes, ta remise de dettes ne sera pas pour eux.
29 But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.	29 Qu’ils soient effacés du livre de vie, qu’ils ne soient pas inscrits au nombre des justes!
30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.	30 Quant à moi, humilié et brisé, ton salut, mon Dieu, me relèvera.
31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.	31 Alors je chanterai le nom de Dieu, je dirai ses grandeurs, je lui rendrai grâce.
32 The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.	32 Cela lui plaira mieux qu’une bête sacrifiée, un taureau, avec ses sabots et ses cornes.
33 For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.	33 Soyez témoins, vous les humbles, et réjouissez-vous, vous qui cherchez Dieu de tout votre cœur!
34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.	34 Voyez que le Seigneur entend ses pauvres, il ne dédaigne pas les siens prisonniers.
35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.	35 Que les cieux et la terre l’acclament, les mers et tout ce qui frétille à l’intérieur.
36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.	36 Sachez que Dieu sauvera Sion et fera rebâtir les villes de Juda: on y reverra maisons et domaines.
	37 Les enfants de ses serviteurs seront les héritiers, ceux qui aiment son Nom y feront leur demeure.
