KING JAMES BIBLENEW AMERICAN BIBLE
The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.1 For the leader. Of David, the servant of the LORD.
For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.2 Sin directs the heart of the wicked; their eyes are closed to the fear of God.
The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.3 For they live with the delusion: their guilt will not be known and hated.
He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.4 Empty and false are the words of their mouth; they have ceased to be wise and do good.
Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.5 In their beds they hatch plots; they set out on a wicked way; they do not reject evil.
Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.6 LORD, your love reaches to heaven; your fidelity, to the clouds.
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.7 Your justice is like the highest mountains; your judgments, like the mighty deep; all living creatures you sustain, LORD.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.8 How precious is your love, O God! We take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.9 We feast on the rich food of your house; from your delightful stream you give us drink.
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.10 For with you is the fountain of life, and in your light we see light.
Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.11 Continue your kindness toward your friends, your just defense of the honest heart.
There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.12 Do not let the foot of the proud overtake me, nor the hand of the wicked disturb me.
There make the evildoers fall; thrust them down, never to rise.
