Psalms 25

KING JAMES BIBLE	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.	1 [Of David] ADORATION I offer, Yahweh,
2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.	2 to you, my God. BUT in my trust in you do not put me to shame, let not my enemies gloat over me.
3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.	3 CALLING to you, none shal ever be put to shame, but shame is theirs who groundlessly break faith.
4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.	4 DIRECT me in your ways, Yahweh, and teach me your paths.
5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.	5 ENCOURAGE me to walk in your truth and teach me since you are the God who saves me. FOR myhope is in you all day long -- such is your generosity, Yahweh.
6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.	6 GOODNESS and faithful love have been yours for ever, Yahweh, do not forget them.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.	7 HOLD not my youthful sins against me, but remember me as your faithful love dictates.
8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.	8 INTEGRITY and generosity are marks of Yahweh for he brings sinners back to the path.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.	9 JUDICIOUSLY he guides the humble, instructing the poor in his way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.	10 KINDNESS unfailing and constancy mark al Yahweh's paths, for those who keep his covenant andhis decrees.
11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.	11 LET my sin, great though it is, be forgiven, Yahweh, for the sake of your name.
12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.	12 MEN who respect Yahweh, what of them? He teaches them the way they must choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.	13 NEIGHBOURS to happiness wil they live, and their children inherit the land.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.	14 ONLY those who fear Yahweh have his secret and his covenant, for their understanding.
15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.	15 PERMANENTLY my eyes are on Yahweh, for he will free my feet from the snare.
16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.	16 QUICK, turn to me, pity me, alone and wretched as I am!
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.	17 RELIEVE the distress of my heart, bring me out of my constraint.
18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.	18 SPARE a glance for my misery and pain, take al my sins away.
19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.	19 TAKE note how countless are my enemies, how violent their hatred for me.
20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.	20 UNLESS you guard me and rescue me I shall be put to shame, for you are my refuge.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.	21 VIRTUE and integrity be my protection, for my hope, Yahweh, is in you.
22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.	22 Ransom Israel, O God, from al its troubles.
