Job 13

1 Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it.	1 Sì, il mio occhio ha visto tutto questo, il mio orecchio l'ha udito e l'ha compreso.
2 What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.	2 Ciò che voi sapete, lo so anch'io, non sono da meno di voi.
3 Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God.	3 Però voglio rivolgermi all'Onnipotente, desidero discutere con Dio.
4 But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value.	4 Voi invece siete manipolatori di falsità, siete tutti medici da nulla.
5 O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom.	5 Oh, se taceste del tutto, sarebbe per voi un atto di sapienza!
6 Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips.	6 Ascoltate, vi prego, la mia difesa, e fate attenzione alla perorazione delle mie labbra.
7 Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?	7 Volete forse dire falsità in favore di Dio e per lui parlare con inganno?
8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?	8 Volete prendere il partito di Dio e farvi suoi avvocati?
9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?	9 Sarebbe bene che vi esaminasse, o volete ingannarlo come si inganna un uomo?
10 He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.	10 Certamente egli vi riprenderà, se in segreto prendete partito per qualcuno.
11 Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you?	11 La sua maestà non vi spaventa e il terrore di lui non vi assale?
12 Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay.	12 Le vostre sentenze sono proverbi di cenere, le vostre risposte sono difese d'argilla.
13 Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.	13 Tacete, lasciatemi; ora voglio parlare io, qualunque cosa mi càpiti.
14 Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand?	14 Afferrerò la mia carne con i denti, porrò la mia vita nelle mie mani.
15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.	15 Certo, mi ucciderà, non ho più speranza; tuttavia difenderò la mia condotta davanti a lui.
16 He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.	16 Già questo sarà per me una vittoria, perché un empio non compare davanti a lui.
17 Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears.	17 Ascoltate attentamente le mie parole, e il mio discorso giunga ai vostri orecchi.
18 Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified.	18 Ecco, ho preparato un processo, cosciente di essere innocente.
19 Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost.	19 Chi dunque vuole contendere con me? Tacere ora sarebbe morire.
20 Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee.	20 Solo, assicurami queste due cose, e allora non mi nasconderò davanti a te.
21 Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid.	21 Allontana da me la tua mano, e il tuo terrore più non mi spaventi;
22 Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me.	22 poi accusami e io risponderò, oppure parlerò io e tu risponderai.
23 How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin.	23 Quante sono le mie colpe e i miei peccati? Fammi conoscere le mie trasgressioni e le mie mancanze!
24 Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?	24 Perché nascondi il tuo volto e mi consideri come un tuo nemico?
25 Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?	25 Perché vuoi spaventare una foglia sbattuta dal vento, e ti accanisci contro una paglia secca?
26 For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth.	26 Perché tu redigi contro di me amari verdetti e mi imputi le colpe della mia giovinezza?
27 Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet.	27 Tu poni i miei piedi nei ceppi e sorvegli tutti i miei passi rilevando le impronte dei miei piedi.
28 And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.
