1 Man trug die Lade Gottes in das Zelt, das David für sie aufgestellt hatte, setzte sie an ihren Platz in der Mitte des Zeltes und brachte Brand- und Heilsopfer vor Gott dar.	1 And so they took the ark of God, and they set it in the midst of the tabernacle, which David had pitched for it. And they offered holocausts and peace offerings before God.
2 Als David mit dem Darbringen der Brand- und Heilsopfer fertig war, segnete er das Volk im Namen des Herrn	2 And when David had completed offering holocausts and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord.
3 und ließ an alle Israeliten, Männer und Frauen, je einen Laib Brot, einen Dattelkuchen und einen Traubenkuchen austeilen.	3 And he divided to every single one, from men even to women, a twist of bread, and a piece of roasted beef, and fine wheat flour fried with oil.
4 David bestellte für den Dienst vor der Lade des Herrn Leviten, die den Herrn, den Gott Israels, rühmen, loben und preisen sollten.	4 And he appointed some from the Levites who would minister before the ark of the Lord, and commemorate his works, and glorify and praise the Lord, the God of Israel.
5 Er bestellte Asaf als ersten, Secharja als zweiten, ferner Jaasiël, Schemiramot, Jehiël, Mattitja, Eliab, Benaja, Obed-Edom und Jëiël. Sie sollten die Harfen und Zithern spielen, Asaf die Zimbeln schlagen	5 Asaph was the leader, and second to him was Zechariah. In addition, there were Jeiel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehiel, and Mattithiah, and Eliab, and Benaiah, and Obededom. And Jeiel was over the instruments of the psaltery and the harps. 6 und die Priester Benaja und Jahasiël ständig die Trompeten blasen vor der Bundeslade Gottes.	6 Truly, the priests, Benaiah and Jahaziel, were to sound the trumpet continually before the ark of the covenant of the Lord.
7 An jenem Tag ließ David Asaf und seine Amtsbrüder zum ersten Mal diesen Lobpreis zur Ehre des Herrn vortragen:	7 In that day, David made Asaph the leader, in order to confess to the Lord with his brothers:
8 Dankt dem Herrn! Ruft seinen Namen an! Macht unter den Völkern seine Taten bekannt!	8 “Confess to the Lord, and invoke his name. Make known his endeavors among the peoples.
9 Singt ihm und spielt ihm, sinnt nach über all seine Wunder!	9 Sing to him, and sing psalms to him, and describe all his miracles.
10 Rühmt euch seines heiligen Namens! Alle, die den Herrn suchen, sollen sich von Herzen freuen.	10 Praise his holy name! Let the heart of those who seek the Lord rejoice!
11 Fragt nach dem Herrn und seiner Macht, sucht sein Antlitz allezeit!	11 Seek the Lord and his virtue. Seek his face always.
12 Denkt an die Wunder, die er getan hat, an seine Zeichen und die Beschlüsse aus seinem Mund!	12 Remember his miracles, which he has accomplished, his signs, and the judgments of his mouth.
13 Bedenkt es, ihr Nachkommen seines Knechtes Abraham, ihr Kinder Jakobs, die er erwählt hat!	13 O offspring of Israel, his servants! O sons of Jacob, his elect!
14 Er, der Herr, ist unser Gott. Seine Herrschaft umgreift die Erde.	14 He is the Lord our God. His judgments are throughout all the earth.
15 Ewig denkt er an seinen Bund, an das Wort, das er gegeben hat für tausend Geschlechter,	15 Remember forever his covenant, the word that he instructed unto a thousand generations,
16 an den Bund, den er mit Abraham geschlossen, an den Eid, den er Isaak geschworen hat.	16 the covenant that he formed with Abraham, and his oath with Isaac.
17 Er bestimmte ihn als Satzung für Jakob, als ewigen Bund für Israel.	17 And he appointed the same to Jacob as a precept, and to Israel as an everlasting pact,
18 Er sprach: Dir will ich Kanaan geben, das Land, das dir als Erbe bestimmt ist.	18 saying: ‘To you, I will give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance.’
19 Als sie noch gering waren an Zahl, nur wenige und fremd im Land,	19 At that time, they were small in number, they were few and were settlers there.
20 und noch zogen von Volk zu Volk, von einem Reich zum andern,	20 And they passed through, from nation to nation, and from one kingdom to another people.
21 da ließ er sie von niemand bedrücken, wies ihretwegen Könige zurecht:	21 He did not permit anyone to falsely accuse them. Instead, he reproved kings on their behalf:
22 Tastet meine Gesalbten nicht an, tut meinen Propheten nichts zuleide!	22 ‘Do not touch my Christ. And do not malign my prophets.’
23 Singt dem Herrn, alle Länder der Erde! Verkündet sein Heil von Tag zu Tag!	23 Sing to the Lord, all the earth! Announce his salvation, from day to day.
24 Erzählt bei den Völkern von seiner Herrlichkeit, bei allen Nationen von seinen Wundern!	24 Describe his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all the peoples.
25 Denn groß ist der Herr und hoch zu preisen, mehr zu fürchten als alle Götter.	25 For the Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And he is terrible, above all gods.
26 Alle Götter der Heiden sind nichtig, der Herr aber hat den Himmel geschaffen.	26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols. But the Lord made the heavens.
27 Hoheit und Pracht sind vor seinem Angesicht, Macht und Glanz in seinem Heiligtum.	27 Confession and magnificence are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.
28 Bringt dar dem Herrn, ihr Stämme der Völker, bringt dar dem Herrn Lob und Ehre!	28 Bring to the Lord, O families of the peoples, bring to the Lord glory and dominion.
29 Bringt dar dem Herrn die Ehre seines Namens, spendet Opfergaben und tretet vor ihn hin! In heiligem Schmuck werft euch nieder vor dem Herrn,	29 Give glory to the Lord, to his name. Lift up sacrifice, and approach before his sight. And adore the Lord in holy attire.
30 erbebt vor ihm, alle Länder der Erde! Den Erdkreis hat er gegründet, sodass er nicht wankt.	30 Let all the earth be moved before his face. For he founded the globe immoveable.
31 Der Himmel freue sich, die Erde frohlocke. Verkündet bei den Völkern: Der Herr ist König.	31 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult. And let them say among the nations, ‘The Lord has reigned.’
32 Es brause das Meer und alles, was es erfüllt, es jauchze die Flur und was auf ihr wächst.	32 Let the sea roar, with all its plenitude. Let the fields exult, with all that is in them.
33 Jubeln sollen alle Bäume des Waldes vor dem Herrn, wenn er kommt, um die Erde zu richten.	33 Then the trees of the forest will give praise before the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth.
34 Danket dem Herrn, denn er ist gütig, denn seine Huld währt ewig.	34 Confess to the Lord, for he is good. For his mercy is eternal.
35 Sagt: Hilf uns, du Gott unsres Heils, führe uns zusammen, rette uns vor den Völkern! Wir wollen deinen heiligen Namen preisen, uns rühmen, weil wir dich loben dürfen.	35 And say: ‘Save us, O God our savior! And gather us together, and rescue us from the nations, so that we may confess to your holy name, and may exult in your songs.
36 Gepriesen sei der Herr, der Gott Israels, vom Anfang bis ans Ende der Zeiten. Und das ganze Volk rief: Amen, und: Lob sei dem Herrn.	36 Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity.’ And let all the people say, ‘Amen,’ and let them sing a hymn to the Lord.”
37 Auf Befehl Davids blieben Asaf und seine Brüder vor der Bundeslade des Herrn, um dauernd den täglichen Dienst bei ihr zu verrichten.	37 And so, there before the ark of the covenant of the Lord, he left Asaph and his brothers, so that they might minister in the sight of the ark continually, throughout each day, and in their turns.
38 Bei ihnen waren Obed-Edom und seine Brüder, achtundsechzig Mann. Obed-Edom, der Sohn Jedutuns, und Hosa waren Torwächter.	38 Now Obededom and his brothers were sixty-eight. And he appointed Obededom, the son of Jeduthun, and Hosah to be porters.
39 Dem Priester Zadok aber und seinen Amtsbrüdern, den Priestern, übertrug er den Dienst vor der Wohnstätte des Herrn auf der Kulthöhe in Gibeon.	39 But Zadok the priest, and his brothers the priests, were before the tabernacle of the Lord in the high place, which was in Gibeon,
40 Sie sollten täglich am Morgen und am Abend auf dem Brandopferaltar dem Herrn Opfer darbringen und alles ausführen, was im Gesetz geschrieben steht, auf das der Herr die Israeliten verpflichtet hat.	40 so that they could offer holocausts to the Lord upon the altar of holocausts continually, morning and evening, according to all that was written in the law of the Lord, which he instructed to Israel.
41 Bei ihnen waren Heman und Jedutun sowie die anderen, die ausgewählt und namentlich dazu bestimmt waren, den Herrn zu loben: «Denn seine Huld währt ewig.»	41 And after him, Heman, and Jeduthun, and the remainder of the elect, each one by his name, were appointed to confess to the Lord: “For his mercy endures forever.”
42 Heman und Jedutun hatten Trompeten und Zimbeln für die Spieler und Instrumente für die Gotteslieder. Die Söhne Jedutuns waren für das Tor bestellt.	42 Also Heman and Jeduthun sounded the trumpet, and they played upon the cymbals, and upon every kind of musical instrument, in order to sing praises to God. But the sons of Jeduthun he made to be porters.
43 Dann ging das ganze Volk wieder nach Hause. Auch David ging heim, um seine Familie zu begrüßen.	43 And all the people returned to their houses, and David also, so that he might bless his own house too.
