1 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach Esau, der auch Edom hieß:	1 These are the descendants of Esau (that is, Edom).
2 Esau nahm sich seine Frauen aus den Töchtern Kanaans: Ada, die Tochter des Hetiters Elon, Oholibama, die Tochter des Ana, eines Sohnes des Hiwiters Zibon,	2 Esau took his wives from among the Canaanite women: Adah, daughter of Elon the Hittite; Oholibamah, granddaughter through Anah of Zibeon the Hivite;

9 Das ist die Geschlechterfolge nach Esau, dem Stammvater von Edom im Bergland Seïr.	9 These are the descendants of Esau, ancestor of the Edomites, in the highlands of Seir.
10 Die Namen der Söhne Esaus sind: Elifas, der Sohn der Ada, der Frau Esaus, und Reguël, der Sohn Basemats, der Frau Esaus.	10 These are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, son of Esau's wife Adah; and Reuel, son of Esau's wife Basemath.
11 Die Söhne des Elifas sind: Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gatam und Kenas.	11 The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12 Timna war die Nebenfrau des Elifas, des Sohnes Esaus. Sie gebar dem Elifas Amalek. Das waren die Söhne Adas, der Frau Esaus.	12 (Esau's son Eliphaz had a concubine Timna, and she bore Amalek to Eliphaz.) These are the descendants of Esau's wife Adah.

These are the clans of Reuel in the land of Edom; they are descended from Esau's wife Basemath.

38 Als Schaul starb, wurde König an seiner Stelle Baal-Hanan, der Sohn Achbors.	38 When Shaul died, Baal-hanan, son of Achbor, succeeded him as king.
39 Als Baal-Hanan, der Sohn Achbors, starb, wurde König an seiner Stelle Hadar; seine Stadt hieß Pagu. Seine Frau hieß Mehetabel; sie war die Tochter Matreds und Enkelin Me-Sahabs.	39 When Baal-hanan died, Hadar succeeded him as king; the name of his city was Pau. (His wife's name was Mehetabel; she was the daughter of Matred, son of Mezahab.)
