1 No primeiro dia do segundo mês, no segundo ano depois da saída do Egito, o Senhor disse a Moisés no deserto do Sinai, na tenda de reunião:	1 And the Lord spoke to Moses in the desert of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the covenant, on the first day of the second month, in the year after their departure from Egypt, saying:
2 "Fazei o recenseamento de toda a assembléia dos filhos de Israel segundo suas famílias, suas casas patriarcais, contando nominalmente por cabeça todos os varões da idade de vinte anos para cima,	2 “Take a total of the entire assembly of the sons of Israel, by their families and houses, and the names of each one, of whomever is of the male sex,
3 todos os israelitas aptos para o serviço das armas: fareis o recenseamento deles segundo os seus grupos, tu e Aarão.	3 from twenty years and above, of all the able-bodied men out of Israel, and you shall number them by their companies, you and Aaron.
4 Assistir-vos-á um homem de cada tribo, um chefe da casa de seu pai.	4 And there shall be with you the leaders of the tribes, as well as of the houses, in their kinships,
5 Eis os nomes daqueles que vos hão de acompanhar: de Rubem, Elisur, filho de Sedeur;	5 the names of whom are these: of Ruben, Elizur the son of Shedeur;
6 de Simeão, Salamiel, filho de Surisadai;	6 of Simeon, Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai;
7 de Judá, Naasson, filho de Aminadab;	7 of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab;
8 de Issacar, Natanael, filho de Suar;	8 of Issachar, Nathanael the son of Zuar;
9 de Zabulon, Eliab, filho de Elom;	9 of Zebulon, Eliab the son of Helon.
10 dos filhos de José: de Efraim, Elisama, filho de Amiud; de Manassés, Gamaliel, filho de Fadassur;	10 And from the sons of Joseph: of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur;
11 de Benjamim, Abidã, filho de Gedeão;	11 of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni;

16 Tais são os que foram escolhidos da assembléia. Eram os príncipes de suas tribos patriarcais, chefes de milhares em Israel.	16 These are the very noble leaders of the multitude, by their tribes and kinships, and the heads of the army of Israel.
17 Depois de se terem ajuntado esses homens designados pelos seus nomes, Moisés e Aarão	17 Moses and Aaron took these, with all the multitude of the common people,
18 convocaram toda a assembléia no primeiro dia do segundo mês. Efetuaram o recenseamento por clãs e famílias, contando nome por nome as pessoas da idade de vinte anos para cima,	18 and they gathered them together on the first day of the second month, taking a census of them by kinships, and houses, and families, and heads, and the names of each one from twenty years and above,
19 assim como o Senhor ordenara a Moisés. Fez-se, pois, o recenseamento no deserto do Sinai.	19 just as the Lord had instructed Moses. And they were numbered in the desert of Sinai.
20 Dos filhos de Rubem, primogênito de Israel, seus descendentes segundo suas famílias e suas casas patriarcais, contando seus nomes por cabeça, todos os varões da idade de vinte anos para cima - todos os que eram aptos para o serviço das armas -,	20 Of Ruben, the firstborn of Israel, by their generations and families and houses, and the names of each head, of all who were of the male sex, from twenty years and above, capable of going to war,
21 foram recenseados 46.500 na tribo de Rubem.	21 there were forty-six thousand five hundred.

44 Estes são os que foram recenseados por Moisés e Aarão com os príncipes de Israel, em número de doze, um homem de cada casa patriarcal.	44 These are the ones who were numbered by Moses and Aaron and the twelve leaders of Israel, each one by the houses of their kinships.
45 Os israelitas recenseados por famílias, da idade de vinte anos para cima - todos os que eram aptos para o serviço das armas -,	45 And the entire number of the sons of Israel by their houses and families, from twenty years and above, who were able to go forth to war, were
46 somaram o total de 603.550.	46 six hundred three thousand five hundred fifty men.
47 Quanto aos levitas, porém, não foram contados com os demais, segundo suas tribos patriarcais.	47 But the Levites in the tribes of their families were not numbered with them.
48 O Senhor havia dito, com efeito, a Moisés:	48 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
49 "Não farás o recenseamento da tribo de Levi, nem porás a soma deles com os filhos de Israel.	49 “Do not number the tribe of Levi, neither shall you take a total of them with the sons of Israel.
50 Confia-lhes o cuidado do tabernáculo do testemunho, de todos os seus utensílios e de tudo o que lhe pertence. Levarão o tabernáculo e todos os seus utensílios, farão o seu serviço e acamparão em volta do tabernáculo.	50 But appoint them over the tabernacle of the testimony, and all its vessels, and whatever pertains to the ceremonies. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its articles. And they shall be for the ministry, and they shall encamp all around the tabernacle.
51 Quando se tiver de partir, os levitas desmontarão o tabernáculo e o levantarão quando se tiver de acampar. O estrangeiro que se aproximar dele será punido de morte.	51 When you would depart, the Levites shall take down the tabernacle. When you are to make camp, they shall set it up. Any outsider who will approach it shall be killed.
52 Os israelitas acamparão cada um em seu respectivo acampamento e cada um perto de sua bandeira, segundo suas turmas.	52 Now the sons of Israel shall make camp, each one by his companies and bands, as well as his army.
53 Quanto aos levitas, porém, acamparão em torno do tabernáculo do testemunho, para que não suceda explodir a minha cólera contra a assembléia dos israelitas; ademais, os levitas terão a guarda do tabernáculo do testemunho".	53 Moreover, the Levites shall fix their tents all around the tabernacle, lest there be an indignation over the multitude of the sons of Israel. And they shall stand watch as guardians over the tabernacle of the testimony.”
54 Os israelitas fizeram tudo o que o Senhor tinha ordenado a Moisés; assim o fizeram.	54 Therefore, the sons of Israel acted according to everything that the Lord had instructed Moses.
