Isaías 32

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Eis que um rei reinará segundo a justiça, e os príncipes governarão com eqüidade.	1 There wil be a king who reigns uprightly and princes who rule with fair judgement;
2 Cada um deles será como um abrigo contra o vento, um refúgio contra a chuva torrencial; como um fio de água num chão ressecado, e como a sombra de um alto rochedo em terra ressequida.	2 each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm, like streams on arid ground, like theshade of a solid rock in a desolate land.
3 Os olhos dos que vêem não mais serão ofuscados, e os ouvidos dos que ouvem estarão atentos.	3 The eyes of seers wil no longer be closed, the ears of hearers wil be alert,
4 Os espíritos insensatos dispor-se-ão a compreender, e a língua dos gagos falará prontamente e com clareza;	4 the heart of the hasty wil learn to think things over, and the tongue of stammerers wil speak promptlyand clearly.
5 não mais se qualificará de nobre ao perverso, nem ao trapaceiro, de grande.	5 The fool wil no longer be cal ed generous, nor the rascal be styled bountiful.
6 Porque o insensato profere loucuras e seu coração dá-se ao mal; comete impiedades, forma sobre o Senhor conceitos errôneos, deixa o faminto queixar-se de sua miséria, priva da bebida àquele que tem sede.	6 For the fool speaks fol y and his heart is set on vil ainy; he is godless in his actions and his wordsascribe error to Yahweh; he starves the hungry of their food and refuses drink to the thirsty.
7 As intrigas do trapaceiro são desleais, ele maquina desígnios criminosos para perder os humildes com mentiras, o pobre que faz valer seu direito;	7 Everything to do with the rascal is evil, he devises infamous plans to ruin the poor with lying wordseven when the needy has right on his side;
8 o fidalgo, porém, tem pensamentos dignos, e um procedimento nobre.	8 but the noble person plans only noble things, noble his every move.
9 Mulheres descuidadas, escutei minha voz. Jovens confiantes demais, ouvi minhas palavras.	9 Stand up, you haughty women, listen to my words; you over-confident daughters, pay attention to whatI say.
10 Dentro de um ano e alguns dias, tremereis, indolentes, porque a vindima estará perdida e a colheita, frustrada.	10 Within one year and a few days you wil tremble, you over-confident women; grape-harvesting will befinished, gathering will never happen again.
11 Fremi, descuidadas, tremei, confiantes. Despi-vos até estardes nuas. Cingi os vossos rins,	11 Shudder, you haughty women, tremble, you over-confident women; strip, undress, put sackclothround your waists.
12 batei nos vossos peitos, {chorando} sobre a sorte dos campos férteis e das vinhas fecundas,	12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine,
13 sobre as terras de meu povo, onde só crescem sarças, sobre todas as casas de prazer da cidade alegre.	13 for my people's soil where the bramble-bush wil be growing and for al the happy houses, for therejoicing city.
14 O palácio está deserto, a cidade barulhenta está abandonada. Ofel e a torre de guarda serão para sempre planaltos desnudos, onde vagueiam os asnos selvagens e pastam os rebanhos.	14 For the citadel wil be abandoned and the thronged city deserted, Ophel and the Keep wil be denudedfor ever, the playground of wild donkeys and the pasture of flocks,
15 Até que sobre nós se derrame o espírito do alto, então o deserto se mudará em vergel, e o vergel tomará o aspecto de uma floresta;	15 until the spirit is poured out on us from above, and the desert becomes an orchard, and an orchardthat seems like a forest.
16 no deserto reinará o direito, e a justiça residirá no vergel.	16 Fair judgement wil fix its home in the desert, and uprightness live in this orchard,
17 A justiça produzirá a paz e o direito assegurará a tranqüilidade;	17 and the product of uprightness will be peace, the effect of uprightness being quiet and security forever.
18 meu povo habitará em mansão serena, em moradas seguras, em abrigos tranqüilos.	18 My people will live in a peaceful home, in peaceful houses, tranquil dwel ings.
19 {A floresta será abatida e a cidade, humilhada}.	19 And should the forest be total y destroyed and the city gravely humiliated,
20 Bem-aventurados sereis por semear à margem de todos os cursos de água, e por deixar o boi e o asno sem peias.	20 You wil be happy to sow wherever there is water and to let the ox and donkey roam free.
