Isaías 32

SAGRADA BIBLIA	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Eis que um rei reinará segundo a justiça, e os príncipes governarão com eqüidade.	1 See, a king will reign justly and princes will rule rightly.
2 Cada um deles será como um abrigo contra o vento, um refúgio contra a chuva torrencial; como um fio de água num chão ressecado, e como a sombra de um alto rochedo em terra ressequida.	2 Each of them will be a shelter from the wind, a retreat from the rain. They will be like streams of water in a dry country, like the shade of a great rock in a parched land.
3 Os olhos dos que vêem não mais serão ofuscados, e os ouvidos dos que ouvem estarão atentos.	3 The eyes of those who see will not be closed;. the ears of those who hear will be attentive,
4 Os espíritos insensatos dispor-se-ão a compreender, e a língua dos gagos falará prontamente e com clareza;	4 No more will the fool be called noble, nor the trickster be considered honorable,
5 não mais se qualificará de nobre ao perverso, nem ao trapaceiro, de grande.
6 Porque o insensato profere loucuras e seu coração dá-se ao mal; comete impiedades, forma sobre o Senhor conceitos errôneos, deixa o faminto queixar-se de sua miséria, priva da bebida àquele que tem sede.	6 For the fool speaks foolishly, planning evil in his heart:. How to do wickedness, to speak perversely against the LORD, To let the hungry go empty and the thirsty be without drink,
7 As intrigas do trapaceiro são desleais, ele maquina desígnios criminosos para perder os humildes com mentiras, o pobre que faz valer seu direito;	7 And the trickster uses wicked trickery, planning crimes: How to ruin the poor with lies, and the needy when they plead their case.
8 o fidalgo, porém, tem pensamentos dignos, e um procedimento nobre.	8 But the noble man plans noble things, and by noble things he stands.
9 Mulheres descuidadas, escutei minha voz. Jovens confiantes demais, ouvi minhas palavras.	9 O complacent ladies, rise up and hear my voice, overconfident women, give heed to my words.
10 Dentro de um ano e alguns dias, tremereis, indolentes, porque a vindima estará perdida e a colheita, frustrada.	10 In a little more than a year you overconfident ones will be shaken; The vintage will fail, there will be no harvest.
11 Fremi, descuidadas, tremei, confiantes. Despi-vos até estardes nuas. Cingi os vossos rins,	11 Tremble, you who are complacent! Shudder, you who are overconfident! Strip yourselves bare, with only a loincloth to cover you,
12 batei nos vossos peitos, {chorando} sobre a sorte dos campos férteis e das vinhas fecundas,	12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, the fruitful vine,
13 sobre as terras de meu povo, onde só crescem sarças, sobre todas as casas de prazer da cidade alegre.	13 And the soil of my people, overgrown whth thorns and briers; For all the joyful houses, the wanton city.
14 O palácio está deserto, a cidade barulhenta está abandonada. Ofel e a torre de guarda serão para sempre planaltos desnudos, onde vagueiam os asnos selvagens e pastam os rebanhos.	14 Yes, the castle will be forsaken, the noisy city deserted;
15 Até que sobre nós se derrame o espírito do alto, então o deserto se mudará em vergel, e o vergel tomará o aspecto de uma floresta;	15 Until the spirit from on high is poured out on us. Then will the desert become an orchard and the orchard be regarded as a forest.
16 no deserto reinará o direito, e a justiça residirá no vergel.	16 Right will dwell in the desert and justice abide in the orchard.

18 meu povo habitará em mansão serena, em moradas seguras, em abrigos tranqüilos.	18 My people will live in peaceful country, in secure dwellings and quiet resting places.
19 {A floresta será abatida e a cidade, humilhada}.	19 Down it comes, as trees come down in the forest! The city will be utterly laid low. Hill and tower will become wasteland forever for wild asses to frolic in, and flocks to pasture,
20 Bem-aventurados sereis por semear à margem de todos os cursos de água, e por deixar o boi e o asno sem peias.	20 Happy are you who sow beside every stream, and let the ox and the ass go freely!
