NEW AMERICAN BIBLENEW JERUSALEM
Come, let us sing joyfully to the LORD; cry out to the rock of our salvation.1 Come, let us cry out with joy to Yahweh, acclaim the rock of our salvation.
Let us greet him with a song of praise, joyfully sing out our psalms.2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving, acclaim him with music.
For the LORD is the great God, the great king over all gods,3 For Yahweh is a great God, a king greater than al the gods.
Whose hand holds the depths of the earth; who owns the tops of the mountains.4 In his power are the depths of the earth, the peaks of the mountains are his;
The sea and dry land belong to God, who made them, formed them by hand.5 the sea belongs to him, for he made it, and the dry land, moulded by his hands.
Enter, let us bow down in worship; let us kneel before the LORD who made us.6 Come, let us bow low and do reverence; kneel before Yahweh who made us!
For this is our God, whose people we are, God's well-tended flock. Oh, that today you would hear his voice:7 For he is our God, and we the people of his sheepfold, the flock of his hand. If only you would listen tohim today!
Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as on the day of Massah in the desert.8 Do not harden your hearts as at Meribah, as at the time of Massah in the desert,
There your ancestors tested me; they tried me though they had seen my works.9 when your ancestors chal enged me, put me to the test, and saw what I could do!
Forty years I loathed that generation; I said: "This people's heart goes astray; they do not know my ways."10 For forty years that generation sickened me, and I said, 'Always fickle hearts; they cannot grasp myways.'
Therefore I swore in my anger: "They shall never enter my rest."11 Then in my anger I swore they would never enter my place of rest.
