Psalms 57

1 Unto the end. May you not destroy. Of David, with the inscription of a title.	1 Non mandare in perdizione: a Davidde: iscrizione da mettersi sopra una colonna. Se veramente voi parlate per la giustizia, siano retti i vostri giudizi, o figliuoli degli uomini.
2 If, truly and certainly, you speak justice, then judge what is right, you sons of men.	2 Ma voi nel cuore operate l'iniquità: le vostre mani lavorano ingiustizie sopra la terra.
3 For, even in your heart, you work iniquity. Your hands construct injustice on the earth.	3 Si sono alienati da Dio i peccatori fino dal loro nascere, fin dal seno della madre han deviato; han parlato con falsità.
4 Sinners have become foreigners from the womb; they have gone astray from conception. They have been speaking falsehoods.	4 Il loro furore è simile a quello di un serpente, simile a quello di un'aspide sorda, che si chiude le orecchie;
5 Their fury is similar to that of a serpent; it is like a deaf asp, who even blocks her ears,	5 La quale non udirà la voce dell'incantatore, e del mago perito degli incantesimi.
6 who will not listen to the voice of charmers, nor even to the enchanter who chants wisely.	6 Dio stritolerà i loro denti nella lor bocca, il Signore spezzerà la mascelle de' lioni.
7 God will crush their teeth within their own mouth. The Lord will break the molars of the lions.	7 Si ridurran nel niente, com' acqua, che scorre; egli tien teso il suo arco, per sino a tanto che siano abbattuti.
8 They will come to nothing, like water flowing away. He has aimed his bow, while they are being weakened.	8 Saranno strutti, come cera che si fonde: cadde il fuoco sopra di essi, e non vider più il sole.
9 Like wax that flows, they will be carried away. Fire has fallen upon them, and they will not see the sun.	9 Prima che queste vostre spine si sentano fatte un roveto, cosi ei lì divorerà nel suo sdegno, quasi ancor vivi.
10 Before your thorns could know the brier, he consumes them alive, as if in rage.	10 Si allegrerà il giusto nel veder la vendetta: laverà le mani sue nel sangue del peccatore.
11 The just one will rejoice when he sees vindication. He will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.	11 E uomo dirà: Certamente se v' ha frutto pel giusto, v' ha certamente un Dio, che giudica costoro sopra la terra.
12 And man will say, “If the just one is fruitful, then, truly, there is a God judging them on earth.”
