Psalms 57

1 Unto the end. May you not destroy. Of David, with the inscription of a title.	1 Mictam di Davide, intorno a ciò ch’egli se ne fuggi’ nella spelonca, d’innanzi a Saulle; dato al capo de’ Musici sopra Al-tashet. ABBI pietà di me, o Dio; abbi pietà di me; Perciocchè l’anima mia si confida in te, Ed io ho la mia speranza nell’ombra delle tue ale, Finchè sieno passate le calamità.
2 If, truly and certainly, you speak justice, then judge what is right, you sons of men.	2 Io griderò all’Iddio altissimo; A Dio che dà compimento a’ fatti miei.
3 For, even in your heart, you work iniquity. Your hands construct injustice on the earth.	3 Egli manderà dal cielo a salvarmi; Egli renderà confuso colui ch’è dietro a me a gola aperta. Sela. Iddio manderà la sua benignità, e la sua verità.
4 Sinners have become foreigners from the womb; they have gone astray from conception. They have been speaking falsehoods.	4 L’anima mia è in mezzo a’ leoni; Io giaccio fra uomini incendiari, I cui denti son lance, e saette, E la cui lingua è spada acuta.
5 Their fury is similar to that of a serpent; it is like a deaf asp, who even blocks her ears,	5 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra.
6 who will not listen to the voice of charmers, nor even to the enchanter who chants wisely.	6 Essi avevano apparecchiata una rete a’ miei passi, Già tiravano a basso l’anima mia; Avevano cavata una fossa davanti a me; Ma essi vi sono caduti dentro. Sela
7 God will crush their teeth within their own mouth. The Lord will break the molars of the lions.	7 Il mio cuore è disposto, o Dio; il mio cuore è disposto; Io canterò, e salmeggerò.
8 They will come to nothing, like water flowing away. He has aimed his bow, while they are being weakened.	8 Gloria mia, destati; destati, saltero, e cetera; Io mi risveglierò all’alba.
9 Like wax that flows, they will be carried away. Fire has fallen upon them, and they will not see the sun.	9 Io ti celebrerò, o Signore, fra i popoli; Io ti salmeggerò fra le nazioni;
10 Before your thorns could know the brier, he consumes them alive, as if in rage.	10 Perciocchè la tua benignità è grande infino al cielo, E la tua verità infino alle nuvole.
11 The just one will rejoice when he sees vindication. He will wash his hands in the blood of the sinner.	11 Innalzati, o Dio, sopra i cieli; Innalzisi la tua gloria sopra tutta la terra
12 And man will say, “If the just one is fruitful, then, truly, there is a God judging them on earth.”
