CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINLXX
At this, my heart became frightened, and it has been moved from its place.1 και ταυτης εταραχθη η καρδια μου και απερρυη εκ του τοπου αυτης
Pay close attention to the alarm of his voice and to the sound that proceeds from his mouth.2 ακουε ακοην εν οργη θυμου κυριου και μελετη εκ στοματος αυτου εξελευσεται
He beholds everything under the heavens, and his light reaches beyond the ends of the earth.3 υποκατω παντος του ουρανου αρχη αυτου και το φως αυτου επι πτερυγων της γης
After this, a noise will sound; he will thunder with the voice of his greatness, and it will not be tracked down, yet his voice will be obeyed.4 οπισω αυτου βοησεται φωνη βροντησει εν φωνη υβρεως αυτου και ουκ ανταλλαξει αυτους οτι ακουσει φωνην αυτου
God will thunder with his voice miraculously, for he performs great and unsearchable things.5 βροντησει ο ισχυρος εν φωνη αυτου θαυμασια εποιησεν γαρ μεγαλα α ουκ ηδειμεν
He commands the snow to descend on earth, and the winter rains, and the shower of his strength.6 συντασσων χιονι γινου επι της γης και χειμων υετος και χειμων υετων δυναστειας αυτου
He signs the hand of all men, so that each one may know his works.7 εν χειρι παντος ανθρωπου κατασφραγιζει ινα γνω πας ανθρωπος την εαυτου ασθενειαν
The beast will enter his hiding-place, and he will remain in his cave.8 εισηλθεν δε θηρια υπο σκεπην ησυχασαν δε επι κοιτης
From the interior, a storm will come forth, and a cold winter from the north.9 εκ ταμιειων επερχονται διναι απο δε ακρωτηριων ψυχος
As God breathes out, frost forms, and the waters are poured forth very widely again.10 και απο πνοης ισχυρου δωσει παγος οιακιζει δε το υδωρ ως εαν βουληται
Crops desire clouds, and the clouds scatter their light.11 και εκλεκτον καταπλασσει νεφελη διασκορπιει νεφος φως αυτου
It shines all around, wherever the will of him that governs them will lead, to anywhere he will command, over the whole face of the earth,12 και αυτος κυκλωματα διαστρεψει εν θεεβουλαθω εις εργα αυτων παντα οσα αν εντειληται αυτοις ταυτα συντετακται παρ' αυτου επι της γης
whether in one tribe, or in his own region, or in whatever place of his mercy that he will order them to be found.13 εαν εις παιδειαν εαν εις την γην αυτου εαν εις ελεος ευρησει αυτον
Listen to these things, Job. Stand up and consider the wonders of God.14 ενωτιζου ταυτα ιωβ στηθι νουθετου δυναμιν κυριου
Do you know when God ordered the rains, so as to show the light of his clouds?15 οιδαμεν οτι ο θεος εθετο εργα αυτου φως ποιησας εκ σκοτους
Do you know the great paths of the clouds, and the perfect sciences?16 επισταται δε διακρισιν νεφων εξαισια δε πτωματα πονηρων
Are not your garments hot, when the south wind blows across the land?17 σου δε η στολη θερμη ησυχαζεται δε επι της γης
Perhaps you have made the heavens with him, which are very solid, as if they had been cast from brass.18 στερεωσεις μετ' αυτου εις παλαιωματα ισχυραι ως ορασις επιχυσεως
Reveal to us what we should say to him, for, of course, we are wrapped in darkness.19 δια τι διδαξον με τι ερουμεν αυτω και παυσωμεθα πολλα λεγοντες
Who will explain to him the things that I am saying? Even while a man is still speaking, he will be devoured.20 μη βιβλος η γραμματευς μοι παρεστηκεν ινα ανθρωπον εστηκως κατασιωπησω
Although they do not see the light, the air will be thickened suddenly into clouds, and the wind, passing by, will drive them away.21 πασιν δ' ουχ ορατον το φως τηλαυγες εστιν εν τοις παλαιωμασιν ωσπερ το παρ' αυτου επι νεφων
Riches arrive from the north, and fearful praise reaches out to God.22 απο βορρα νεφη χρυσαυγουντα επι τουτοις μεγαλη η δοξα και τιμη παντοκρατορος
We are not worthy to be able to find him. Great in strength, great in judgment, great in justice: he is indescribable.23 και ουχ ευρισκομεν αλλον ομοιον τη ισχυι αυτου ο τα δικαια κρινων ουκ οιει επακουειν αυτον
Therefore, men will fear him, and all those who seem to themselves to be wise, will not dare to contemplate him.24 διο φοβηθησονται αυτον οι ανθρωποι φοβηθησονται δε αυτον και οι σοφοι καρδια
