Psalms 96

1 This is to David, when his land was restored to him. The Lord has reigned, let the earth exult. Let the many islands rejoice.	1 - Di David. Quando la sua terra fu ristabilita. Il Signore regna, esulti la terra, si rallegrin le molte isole!
2 Clouds and mist are all around him. Justice and judgment are corrections from his throne.	2 Nubi e caligine gli stan d'intorno, la giustizia e il diritto son la base del suo trono.
3 A fire will precede him, and it will enflame his enemies all around.	3 Il fuoco dinanzi a lui precede e abbrucia all'intorno i suoi nemici;
4 His lightnings have enlightened the whole world. The earth saw, and it was shaken.	4 illuminan le sue folgori il mondo, vede e si scuote la terra;
5 The mountains flowed like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth.	5 i monti come cera si struggono al cospetto del Signore, al cospetto del Signor [di] tutta la terra.
6 The heavens announced his justice, and all peoples saw his glory.	6 Annunziano i cieli la sua giustiziae miran tutti i popoli la sua gloria.
7 May all those who adore graven images be confounded, along with those who glory in their false images. All you his Angels: Adore him.	7 Sian confusi gli adoratori d'[idoli] scolpitie quei che si glorian ne' loro simulacri: tutti gli dèi si prostrano dinanzi a lui!
8 Zion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Judah exulted because of your judgments, O Lord.	8 Ode Sion [questo] e si rallegra, ed esultan le figlie di Giudaa cagione de' tuoi giudizi, o Signore.
9 For you are the Most High Lord over all the earth. You are greatly exalted above all gods.	9 Perchè tu sei, o Signore, l'Altissimo su tutta la terra, oltremodo esaltato sovra tutti gli dèi.
10 You who love the Lord: hate evil. The Lord watches over the souls of his holy ones. He will free them from the hand of the sinner.	10 O voi che amate il Signore, odiate il male! Custodisce il Signore le vite de' suoi fedeli, dalla mano dell'empio li libera.
11 The light has risen for the just, and joy for the upright of heart.	11 Luce è spuntata per il giusto, e per i retti di cuore letizia.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you just ones, and confess to the memory of his sanctuary.	12 Rallegratevi, o giusti, nel Signore e celebrate la sua santa memoria.
