Job 26

CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAINEL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
Then Job responded by saying:1 Job replicó, diciendo:
Whose assistant are you? Is he weak-minded? And do you sustain the arm of him that is not strong?2 ¡Qué bien has ayudado al débil y socorrido al brazo sin fuerza!
To whom have you given advice? Perhaps it is to him that has no wisdom or prudence that you have revealed your many ideas.3 ¡Qué bien has aconsejado al ignorante y enseñado la prudencia al simple!
Who is it that you wanted to teach? Was it not him that created the breath of life?4 ¿A quién le has dirigido tus palabras y quién inspiraba lo que salió de ti?
Behold, giant things groan under the waters, and they dwell with them.5 Bajo la tierra se retuercen las Sombras, las aguas y los que habitan en ellas.
The underworld is naked before him, and there is no covering for perdition.6 El Abismo está desnudo ante él, y nada cubre a la Perdición.
He stretched out the North over emptiness, and he suspended the land over nothing.7 El extiende el Norte sobre el vacío, suspende la tierra sobre la nada.
He secures the waters in his clouds, so that they do not burst forth downward all at once.8 Encierra el agua en sus densos nubarrones, y las nubes no se rompen bajo su peso.
He holds back the face of his throne, and he stretches his cloud over it.9 Oscurece la faz de la luna llena, desplegando sus nubes contra ella.
He has set limits around the waters, until light and darkness shall reach their limit.10 Trazó un círculo sobre la superficie de las aguas, en el límite mismo de la luz y las tinieblas.
The pillars of heaven tremble and are frightened at his nod.11 Las columnas del cielo vacilan, presas de terror por su amenaza.
By his strength, the seas suddenly gather together, and his foresight has struck the arrogant.12 Con su fuerza, reprimió al Mar, con su inteligencia, quebrantó a Rahab.
His spirit has adorned the heavens, and his birthing hand has brought forth the winding serpent.13 Con su soplo, despejó los cielos, su mano traspasó a la Serpiente huidiza.
Behold, these things have been said about his ways in part, and, since we barely have heard a small drop of his word, who will be able to gaze upon the thunder of his greatness?14 ¡Y esto no es más que un vestigio de su poder! ¡Qué eco tan débil percibimos de él! ¿Quién entenderá, entonces, su poderío atronador?
