1 ¡Recuerda Señor, lo que nos ha sucedido, mira y contempla nuestro oprobio!	1 Remember, O LORD, what has befallen us, look, and see our disgrace:
2 Nuestra herencia pasó a manos de extranjeros, nuestras casas, a manos de extraños.	2 Our inherited lands have been turned over to strangers, our homes to foreigners.
3 Estamos huérfanos, sin padre, nuestras madres son como viudas.	3 We have become orphans, fatherless; widowed are our mothers.
4 Tenemos que pagar el agua que bebemos, la leña nos cuesta dinero.	4 The water we drink we must buy, for our own wood we must pay.
5 Somos empujados con el yugo al cuello, estamos fatigados, no nos dan respiro.	5 On our necks is the yoke of those who drive us; we are worn out, but allowed no rest.
6 Tendemos las manos hacia Egipto, hacia Asiria, para saciarnos de pan.	6 To Egypt we submitted, and to Assyria, to fill our need of bread.
7 Nuestros padres pecaron, y ya no existen: nosotros cargamos con sus culpas.	7 Our fathers, who sinned, are no more; but we bear their guilt.
8 Estamos dominados por esclavos y nadie nos arranca de sus manos.	8 Slaves rule over us; there is no one to rescue us from their hands.
9 Arriesgamos la vida para conseguir nuestro pan, afrontando la espada del desierto.	9 At the peril of our lives we bring in our sustenance, in the face of the desert heat;
10 Nuestra piel quema como un horno, por los ardores del hambre.	10 Our skin is shriveled up, as though by a furnace, with the searing blasts of famine.
11 Han violado a las mujeres en Sión, a las vírgenes en las ciudades de Judá.	11 The wives in Zion were ravished by the enemy, the maidens in the cities of Judah;
12 Los príncipes fueron colgados de las manos, no se respetó la dignidad de los ancianos.	12 Princes were gibbeted by them, elders shown no respect.
13 Los jóvenes arrastraron la piedra de moler, los niños se doblaron bajo el peso de la leña.	13 The youths carry the millstones, boys stagger under their loads of wood;
14 Los ancianos ya no acuden a la puerta de la ciudad, los jóvenes ya no tocan sus cítaras.	14 The old men have abandoned the gate, the young men their music.
15 Cesó la alegría de nuestro corazón, nuestra danza se ha cambiado en luto.	15 The joy of our hearts has ceased, our dance has turned into mourning;
16 Se ha caído la corona de nuestras cabezas: ¡ay de nosotros, porque hemos pecado!	16 The garlands have fallen from our heads: woe to us, for we have sinned!
17 Por esto nuestro corazón está dolorido, por esto se nublan nuestros ojos:	17 Over this our hearts are sick, at this our eyes grow dim:
18 porque el monte Sión está desolado y los zorros se pasean por él.	18 That Mount Zion should be desolate, with jackals roaming there!
19 Pero tú, Señor, reinas para siempre, tu trono permanece eternamente.	19 You, O LORD, are enthroned forever; your throne stands from age to age.
20 ¿Por qué nos tendrás siempre olvidados y nos abandonarás toda la vida?	20 Why, then, should you forget us, abandon us so long a time?
21 ¡Vuélvenos hacia ti, Señor, y volveremos: renueva nuestros días como en los tiempos pasados!	21 Lead us back to you, O LORD, that we may be restored: give us anew such days as we had of old.
22 ¿O es que nos has desechado completamente y te has irritado con nosotros sin medida?	22 For now you have indeed rejected us, and in full measure turned your wrath against us.
