1 Al maestro di coro. Salmo. Di Davide.	1 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he who considers the poor! The LORD delivers him in the day of trouble;
2 Beato colui che è sollecito del misero: nel giorno della sventura lo libererà il Signore.	2 the LORD protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; thou dost not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3 Il Signore lo custodirà e gli darà vita, lo farà felice sulla terra e non lo abbandonerà alle brame dei suoi nemici.	3 The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness thou healest all his infirmities.
4 Il Signore lo sosterrà sul letto del dolore, nella sua infermità tu rovesci il suo giaciglio.	4 As for me, I said, "O LORD, be gracious to me; heal me, for I have sinned against thee!"
5 Io ho detto: "Guarisci l'anima mia, poiché ho peccato contro di te".	5 My enemies say of me in malice: "When will he die, and his name perish?"
6 I miei nemici mi augurano del male: "Quando morrà e sarà estirpato il suo nome?".	6 And when one comes to see me, he utters empty words, while his heart gathers mischief; when he goes out, he tells it abroad.
7 Se uno viene a farmi visita, falsità parla il suo cuore; raccoglie per sé indizi funesti, esce fuori e sparla.	7 All who hate me whisper together about me; they imagine the worst for me.
8 D'accordo sussurrano contro di me quanti mi odiano, facendo su di me previsioni funeste:	8 They say, "A deadly thing has fastened upon him; he will not rise again from where he lies."
9 "Un male pernicioso s'è riversato su di lui; lui che giace infermo mai più si alzerà".	9 Even my bosom friend in whom I trusted, who ate of my bread, has lifted his heel against me.
10 Anche il mio intimo amico, quello in cui io nutrivo fiducia, quello che mangiava il mio stesso pane, ha alzato il calcagno contro di me.	10 But do thou, O LORD, be gracious to me, and raise me up, that I may requite them!
11 Ma tu, o Signore, abbi di me pietà, fa' che io mi alzi e possa ripagar loro quanto si meritano.	11 By this I know that thou art pleased with me, in that my enemy has not triumphed over me.
12 In questo io conosco che tu mi vuoi bene, se il mio nemico non trionferà su di me.	12 But thou hast upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in thy presence for ever.
13 Quanto a me, nella mia innocenza mi sosterrai e alla tua presenza mi farai stare per sempre.	13 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen.
14 Benedetto il Signore, Dio d'Israele, da sempre e per sempre. Amen, amen.
