1 Salmo di Davide. Quando fuggì davanti ad Assalonne suo figlio.	1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. O LORD, how many are my foes! Many are rising against me;
2 O Signore, quanto numerosi sono i miei avversari! quanti sono insorti contro di me,	2 many are saying of me, there is no help for him in God. [Selah]
3 quanti sono quelli che dicono di me: "Non c'è salvezza per lui da parte di Dio!".	3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
4 Ma tu, o Signore, sei uno scudo intorno a me; sei la mia gloria e in alto sollevi il mio capo.	4 I cry aloud to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy hill. [Selah]
5 Quando con la mia voce invocai il Signore, mi rispose dal santo suo monte.	5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the LORD sustains me.
6 Ecco, mi corico e mi addormento. Mi sveglio: sì, il Signore mi sostiene.	6 I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me round about.
7 Io non temo un esercito di miriadi che si scagliano contro di me da ogni parte.	7 Arise, O LORD! Deliver me, O my God! For thou dost smite all my enemies on the cheek, thou dost break the teeth of the wicked.
8 Sorgi, o Signore; salvami, o Dio. Colpisci sulla guancia tutti i miei nemici, manda in frantumi i denti degli empi.	8 Deliverance belongs to the LORD; thy blessing be upon thy people! [Selah]
9 Del Signore è la salvezza. Sul tuo popolo scenda la tua benedizione.
