| 9 Salì fumo dalle sue narici e fuoco divoratore dalla sua bocca, carboni fiammeggiarono da lui. | 9 Smoke went up from his nostrils, and devouring fire from his mouth; glowing coals flamed forth from him. |
| 10 Piegò i cieli e discese, e una densa nube era sotto i suoi piedi, | 10 He bowed the heavens, and came down; thick darkness was under his feet. |
| 11 cavalcò un cherubino e volò, apparve sulle ali del vento; | 11 He rode on a cherub, and flew; he was seen upon the wings of the wind. |
| 12 si avvolse di tenebre come tenda, un ammasso di acqua, nubi profondissime. | 12 He made darkness around him his canopy, thick clouds, a gathering of water. |
| 13 Per lo splendore davanti a lui, s'accesero carboni di fuoco; | 13 Out of the brightness before him coals of fire flamed forth. |
| 14 tuonò dal cielo il Signore e l'Altissimo emise la sua voce: | 14 The LORD thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered his voice. |
| 15 scoccò frecce e le disseminò, scagliò fulmini e li sparpagliò. | 15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and routed them. |
| 16 Furono messi a nudo gli abissi del mare, le fondamenta del mondo furono scoperte, al rimbombo minaccioso del Signore, al soffio del vento delle sue narici. | 16 Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world were laid bare, at the rebuke of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils. |
| 17 Dall'alto stese la mano e mi afferrò, mi trasse fuori dalle acque profonde. | 17 "He reached from on high, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. |
| 18 Mi salvò dal mio potente nemico, dai miei avversari, perché più forti di me. | 18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too mighty for me. |
| 19 Mi affrontarono nel giorno della mia calamità, ma il Signore fu il sostegno per me. | 19 They came upon me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was my stay. |
| 20 Mi fece uscire in luogo spazioso, mi liberò perché si compiace in me. | 20 He brought me forth into a broad place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me. |
| 21 Il Signore mi ricompensò secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la purezza delle mie mani mi retribuì; | 21 "The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me. |
| 22 perché io ho osservato le vie del Signore e non ho agito male lontano dal mio Dio; | 22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God. |
| 23 perché ogni suo precetto fu davanti a me, e dalla sua legge non mi allontanai. | 23 For all his ordinances were before me, and from his statutes I did not turn aside. |
| 24 Fui perfetto verso di lui, e mi guardai dal mio peccato. | 24 I was blameless before him, and I kept myself from guilt. |
| 25 Il Signore mi ricompensò secondo la mia giustizia, secondo la mia innocenza davanti ai suoi occhi. | 25 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness in his sight. |
| 26 Con il pio tratti da pio, con l'uomo perfetto tratti da perfetto; | 26 "With the loyal thou dost show thyself loyal; with the blameless man thou dost show thyself blameless; |
| 27 con il sincero ti mostri sincero, ma con il perverso ti mostri subdolo. | 27 with the pure thou dost show thyself pure, and with the crooked thou dost show thyself perverse. |
| 28 Tu salvi il popolo umile e sui superbi abbassi i tuoi occhi. | 28 Thou dost deliver a humble people, but thy eyes are upon the haughty to bring them down. |

| 50 Per questo ti lodo, o Signore, tra i popoli, e inneggerò al tuo nome. | 50 "For this I will extol thee, O LORD, among the nations, and sing praises to thy name. |
| 51 Egli concede grandi vittorie al suo re, e compie opere d'amore per il suo consacrato, per Davide e la sua discendenza per sempre". | 51 Great triumphs he gives to his king, and shows steadfast love to his anointed, to David, and his descendants for ever." |
