Salmos 41

EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Del maestro de coro. Salmo de David.	1 [For the choirmaster Psalm Of David] Blessed is anyone who cares for the poor and the weak; in timeof trouble Yahweh rescues him.
2 Feliz el que se ocupa del débil y del pobre: el Señor lo librará en el momento del peligro.	2 Yahweh protects him, gives him life and happiness on earth. Do not abandon him to his enemies'pleasure!
3 El Señor lo protegerá y le dará larga vida, lo hará dichoso en la tierra y no lo entregará a la avidez de sus enemigos.	3 Yahweh sustains him on his bed of sickness; you transform altogether the bed where he lies sick.
4 El Señor lo sostendrá en su lecho de dolor y le devolverá la salud.	4 For my part I said, 'Yahweh, take pity on me! Cure me for I have sinned against you.'
5 Yo dije: «Ten piedad de mí, Señor, sáname, porque pequé contra ti».	5 My enemies speak to me only of disaster, 'When wil he die and his name disappear?'
6 Mis enemigos sólo me auguran desgracias: «¿Cuándo se morirá y desaparecerá su nombre?».	6 When people come to see me their talk is hol ow, when they get out they spread the news with spite intheir hearts.
7 Si alguien me visita, habla con falsedad, recoge malas noticias y las divulga al salir.	7 Al who hate me whisper together about me and reckon I deserve the misery I suffer.
8 Mis adversarios se juntan para murmurar contra mí, y me culpan de los males que padezco, diciendo:	8 'A fatal sickness has a grip on him; now that he is down, he will never get up again.'
9 «Una enfermedad incurable ha caído sobre él; ese que está postrado no volverá a levantarse».	9 Even my trusted friend on whom I relied, who shared my table, takes advantage of me.
10 Hasta mi amigo más íntimo, en quien yo confiaba, el que comió mi pan, se puso contra mí.	10 But you, Yahweh, take pity on me! Put me on my feet and I wil give them their due.
11 Pero tú, Señor, ten piedad de mí; levántame y les daré su merecido.	11 This wil convince me that you delight in me, if my enemy no longer exults over me.
12 En esto reconozco que tú me amas, en que mi enemigo no canta victoria sobre mí.	12 Then you wil keep me unscathed, and set me in your presence for ever.
13 Tú me sostuviste a causa de mi integridad, y me mantienes para siempre en tu presencia.	13 Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from eternity to eternity. Amen, Amen.
14 ¡Bendito sea el Señor, el Dios de Israel, desde siempre y para siempre! ¡Amén! ¡Amén!
