2 L’anima mia brama i cortili del Signore, e vien meno; Il mio cuore e la mia carne sclamano all’Iddio vivente.	2 My whole being yearns and pines for Yahweh's courts, My heart and my body cry out for joy to theliving God.
3 Anche la passera si trova stanza, E la rondinella nido, ove posino i lor figli Presso a’ tuoi altari, o Signor degli eserciti, Re mio, e Dio mio.	3 Even the sparrow has found a home, the swal ow a nest to place its young: your altars, YahwehSabaoth, my King and my God.
4 Beati coloro che abitano nella tua Casa, E ti lodano del continuo. Sela.	4 How blessed are those who live in your house; they shall praise you continual y. Pause
5 Beato l’uomo che ha forza in te; E coloro che hanno le tue vie nel cuore;	5 Blessed those who find their strength in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
6 I quali, passando per la valle de’ gelsi, La riducono in fonti, Ed anche in pozze che la pioggia empie.	6 As they pass through the Val ey of the Balsam, they make there a water-hole, and -- a further blessing-- early rain fil s it.
7 Camminano di valore in valore. Finchè compariscano davanti a Dio in Sion	7 They make their way from height to height, God shows himself to them in Zion.
8 O Signore Iddio degli eserciti, ascolta la mia orazione; Porgi l’orecchio, o Dio di Giacobbe. Sela.	8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, hear my prayer, listen, God of Jacob.
9 O Dio, scudo nostro, vedi, E riguarda la faccia del tuo unto.	9 God, our shield, look, and see the face of your anointed.
10 Perciocchè un giorno ne’ tuoi cortili val meglio che mille altrove; Io eleggerei anzi di essere alla soglia della Casa del mio Dio, Che di abitare ne’ tabernacoli di empietà.	10 Better one day in your courts than a thousand at my own devices, to stand on the threshold of God'shouse than to live in the tents of the wicked.
11 Perciocchè il Signore Iddio è sole e scudo; Il Signore darà grazia e gloria; Egli non divieterà il bene a quelli che camminano in integrità.	11 For Yahweh God is a rampart and shield, he gives grace and glory; Yahweh refuses nothing good tothose whose life is blameless.
12 O Signor degli eserciti, Beato l’uomo che si confida in te	12 Yahweh Sabaoth, blessed is he who trusts in you.
