| 6 Tu ne t'écarteras point de la justice pour condamner le pauvre. | 6 'You will not cheat the poor among you of their rights at law. |
| 7 Tu fuiras le mensonge ; tu ne feras point mourir l'innocent et le juste, parce que j'abhorre l'impie. | 7 Keep clear of fraud. Do not cause the death of the innocent or upright, and do not acquit the guilty. |

| 9 Tu ne feras point de peine à l'étranger, car vous connaissez l'état des étrangers, puisque vous avez été vous-mêmes étrangers dans l'Egypte. | 9 'You will not oppress the alien; you know how an alien feels, for you yourselves were once aliens inEgypt. |

Tu ne te présenteras point devant moi les mains vides. | 15 You wil observe the feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you wil eat unleavened bread, as Ihave commanded you, at the appointed time in the month of Abib, for in that month you came out of Egypt. Noone will appear before me empty-handed. |

| 17 Tous les mâles qui sont parmi toi viendront se présenter trois fois l'année devant le Seigneur ton Dieu. | 17 Three times a year al your menfolk will appear before Lord Yahweh. |
| 18 Tu ne m'offriras point avec du levain le sang de la victime qui m'est immolée, et la graisse de l'hostie offerte en ma solennité ne demeurera point jusqu'au lendemain. | 18 'You wil not offer the blood of my victim with leavened bread, nor wil the fat of my feast be kept tilthe following day. |
| 19 Tu viendras offrir en la maison du Seigneur ton Dieu, les prémices des fruits de ta terre. Tu ne feras point cuire le chevreau dans le lait de sa mère. | 19 'You wil bring the best of the first-fruits of your soil to the house of Yahweh your God. 'You wil notboil a kid in its mother's milk. |
| 20 Voici que j'enverrai mon ange, afin qu'il marche devant toi, qu'il te garde pendant le chemin et qu'il te fasse entrer dans la terre que je t'ai préparée. | 20 'Look, I am sending an angel to precede you, to guard you as you go and bring you to the place that Ihave prepared. |
| 21 Respecte-le, écoute sa voix et garde-toi bien de le mépriser, parce qu'il ne te pardonnera point lorsque tu pècheras, et parce que mon nom est en lui. | 21 Revere him and obey what he says. Do not defy him: he wil not forgive any wrong-doing on yourpart, for my name is in him. |
| 22 Si tu écoutes sa voix et si tu fais tout ce que je te dis, je serai l'ennemi de tes ennemis et j'affligerai ceux qui t'affligeront. | 22 If, however, you obey what he says and do whatever I order, I shal be an enemy to your enemiesand a foe to your foes. |
| 23 (Et) Mon ange marchera devant toi, et il te fera entrer dans la terre des Amorrhéens, des Héthéens, des Phérézéens, des Chananéens, des Hévéens et des Jébuséens ; car je les exterminerai. | 23 My angel wil precede you and lead you to the home of the Amorites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, theCanaanites, the Hivites and the Jebusites, whom I shal exterminate. |
| 24 Tu ne te prosterneras (n'adoreras) pas (devant) leurs dieux et tu ne les serviras pas. Tu n'imiteras point leursœuvres, mais tu les détruiras et tu briseras leurs statues. | 24 You wil not bow down to their gods or worship them or observe their rites, but throw them down andsmash their cultic stones. |
| 25 Vous servirez le Seigneur votre Dieu, afin que je bénisse ton pain et les (tes) eaux que tu bois, et que je bénisse (enlève) toutes les maladies du milieu de toi. | 25 You wil worship Yahweh your God, and then I shal bless your food and water, and keep you free ofsickness. |
| 26 Il n'y aura point dans ta terre de femme stérile et inféconde, et je remplirai le nombre de tes jours. | 26 In your country no woman will miscarry, none be sterile, and I shall give you your ful term of life. |
| 27 J'enverrai ma terreur devant toi ; j'exterminerai tous les peuples auprès desquels tu entreras, et je ferai fuir tous tes ennemis devant toi. | 27 'I shal send terror of myself ahead of you; I shal throw al the peoples you encounter into confusion,and make al your enemies take to their heels. |
| 28 J'enverrai des frelons devant toi, qui mettront en fuite les Hévéens, les Chananéens et les Héthéens, avant que tu entres dans leur pays. | 28 I shal send hornets ahead of you to drive Hivite, Canaanite and Hittite out before you. |
| 29 Je ne les chasserai pas de devant ta face en une seule année, de peur que la terre ne soit réduite en solitude et que les bêtes ne se multiplient contre toi. | 29 I shal not drive them out ahead of you in a single year, or the land might become a desert where wildanimals would multiply to your cost. |
| 30 Je les chasserai peu à peu de devant toi, jusqu'à ce que tus croisses en nombre et que tu te rendes maître de tout le pays. | 30 I shal drive them out little by little before you, until your numbers grow sufficient for you to takepossession of the land. |
| 31 Les limites que je te marquerai seront depuis la mer Rouge jusqu'à la mer des Philistins, et depuis le désert jusqu'au fleuve. Je livrerai entre vos mains les habitants de cette terre, et je les mettrai en fuite devant vous. | 31 And your frontiers I shall fix from the Sea of Reeds to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desertto the River, for I shal put the inhabitants of the territory at your mercy, and you will drive them out before you. |
| 32 Tu ne feras point d'alliance avec eux ni avec les dieux qu'ils adorent. | 32 You wil make no pact with them or with their gods. |
| 33 Ils n'habiteront point dans ta terre, de peur qu'ils ne te portent à m'offenser en servant les dieux qu'ils adorent, ce qui sera certainement ta ruine (pour toi un scandale). | 33 They may not stay in your country or they might make you sin against me, for you would serve theirgods, and that would be a snare for you!' |
