| 1 El quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y vi una estrella caída del cielo a la tierra. Y le fue dada la llave del pozo del abismo, | 1 And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. |
| 2 y abrió el pozo del abismo; y subió humo del pozo como el humo de un gran horno, y se oscurecieron el sol y el aire por el humo del pozo. | 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. |
| 3 Del humo salieron langostas hacia la tierra, y les fue dado poder como el poder que tienen los escorpiones de la tierra. | 3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. |
| 4 Se les dijo que no hicieran daño a la hierba ni a nada verde ni a ningún árbol, sino solo a las personas que no llevan el sello de Dios en la frente. | 4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. |
| 5 Y les fue dado poder no para matarlos, sino para atormentarlos durante cinco meses. Y su tormento es como el tormento del escorpión cuando pica a un hombre. | 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. |
| 6 Y en aquellos días los hombres buscarán la muerte y no la encontrarán; desearán morir, y la muerte huirá de ellos. | 6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. |
| 7 Y el aspecto de las langostas era como de caballos preparados para la guerra; llevan en la cabeza una especie de coronas que parecen de oro, y sus rostros eran como rostros humanos. | 7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. |
| 8 Y tenían cabellos como cabellos de mujer, y sus dientes eran como de león. | 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. |
| 9 Y tenían corazas como corazas de hierro, y el ruido de sus alas era como el ruido de carros con muchos caballos que corren al combate. | 9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. |
| 10 Tienen colas como de escorpiones, y aguijones, y en sus colas reside su poder para dañar a los hombres durante cinco meses. | 10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months. |
| 11 Tienen como rey sobre ellos al ángel del abismo; en hebreo su nombre es Abaddón y en griego Apolíon. | 11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon. |
| 12 El primer ¡ay! ha pasado; mira que vienen todavía dos después de esto. | 12 One woe is past; and, behold, there come two woes more hereafter. |
| 13 El sexto ángel tocó la trompeta, y oí una voz que salía de los cuatro ángulos del altar de oro que está delante de Dios. | 13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God, |
| 14 Y le decía al sexto ángel, al que tenía la trompeta: «Suelta a los cuatro ángeles que están atados junto al gran río, el Éufrates». | 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates. |
| 15 Quedaron sueltos los cuatro ángeles que estaban preparados para aquella hora y día y mes y año, para matar a la tercera parte de los hombres. | 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. |
| 16 Y el número de las tropas de caballería era doscientos millones; yo oí su número. | 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. |
| 17 En la visión vi así a los caballos y a sus jinetes: tenían corazas de fuego, jacinto y azufre; las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de león, y de sus bocas sale fuego, humo y azufre. | 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. |
| 18 Por estas tres plagas que salían de su boca, fuego, humo y azufre, murió la tercera parte de los hombres. | 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. |
| 19 Pues el poder de los caballos está en su boca y también en sus colas, ya que sus colas parecen serpientes con cabezas, y con ellas hacen el daño. | 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. |
| 20 El resto de los hombres, los que no murieron por estas plagas, tampoco se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos, no dejaron de adorar a los demonios y a los ídolos de oro y plata, bronce, piedra y madera, que no ven ni oyen ni andan. | 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk: |
| 21 No se arrepintieron tampoco de sus homicidios ni de sus hechicerías ni de su fornicación ni de sus robos. | 21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts. |
