| 4 Por eso, así habla el Señor: “No bajarás jamás de la cama a la que has subido. Morirás sin remedio”». Y Elías se fue. | 4 Now therefore thus says the LORD, 'You shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone, but you shall surely die.'" So Elijah went. |
| 5 Volvieron los mensajeros ante Ocozías y él les preguntó: «¿Qué sucede para que hayáis vuelto?». | 5 The messengers returned to the king, and he said to them, "Why have you returned?" |
| 6 Ellos le respondieron: «Un hombre nos salió al encuentro y nos dijo: “Volved al rey que os ha enviado y comunicadle: Así habla el Señor: ¿No hay acaso Dios en Israel para que envíes a consultar a Baal Zebub, el dios de Ecrón? Por eso, no bajarás jamás de la cama a la que has subido. Morirás sin remedio”». | 6 And they said to him, "There came a man to meet us, and said to us, 'Go back to the king who sent you, and say to him, Thus says the LORD, Is it because there is no God in Israel that you are sending to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone, but shall surely die.'" |

| 16 Le dijo: «Así dice el Señor: Por haber enviado mensajeros a consultar a Baal Zebub, el dios de Ecrón, como si en Israel no hubiera Dios a quien consultar, para que envíes a consultar a Baal Zebub, el dios de Ecrón, por eso, no bajarás jamás de la cama a la que has subido. Morirás sin remedio». | 16 and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, 'Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal-zebub, the god of Ekron,--is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word?--therefore you shall not come down from the bed to which you have gone, but you shall surely die.'" |
| 17 Y murió conforme a la palabra del Señor que Elías había pronunciado. Como no tenía hijos, le sucedió en el trono su hermano Jorán, el año segundo de Jorán, hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá. | 17 So he died according to the word of the LORD which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram, his brother, became king in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, because Ahaziah had no son. |
