1 Corintios 2

1 Pues yo, hermanos, cuando fui a vosotros, no fui con el prestigio de la palabra o de la sabiduría a anunciaros el misterio de Dios,	1 Now when I came to you, brothers, I did not come with any brilliance of oratory or wise argument toannounce to you the mystery of God.
2 pues no quise saber entre vosotros sino a Jesucristo, y éste crucificado.	2 I was resolved that the only knowledge I would have while I was with you was knowledge of Jesus, andof him as the crucified Christ.
3 Y me presenté ante vosotros débil, tímido y tembloroso.	3 I came among you in weakness, in fear and great trembling
4 Y mi palabra y mi predicación no tuvieron nada de los persuasivos discursos de la sabiduría, sino que fueron una demostración del Espíritu y del poder	4 and what I spoke and proclaimed was not meant to convince by philosophical argument, but todemonstrate the convincing power of the Spirit,
5 para que vuestra fe se fundase, no en sabiduría de hombres, sino en el poder de Dios.	5 so that your faith should depend not on human wisdom but on the power of God.
6 Sin embargo, hablamos de sabiduría entre los perfectos, pero no de sabiduría de este mundo ni de los príncipes de este mundo, abocados a la ruina;	6 But stil , to those who have reached maturity, we do talk of a wisdom, not, it is true, a philosophy of thisage or of the rulers of this age, who will not last long now.
7 sino que hablamos de una sabiduría de Dios, misteriosa, escondida, destinada por Dios desde antes de los siglos para gloria nuestra,	7 It is of the mysterious wisdom of God that we talk, the wisdom that was hidden, which God predestinedto be for our glory before the ages began.
8 desconocida de todos los príncipes de este mundo - pues de haberla conocido no hubieran crucificado al Señor de la Gloria -.	8 None of the rulers of the age recognised it; for if they had recognised it, they would not have crucifiedthe Lord of glory;
9 Más bien, como dice la Escritura, anunciamos: lo que ni el ojo vio, ni el oído oyó, ni al corazón del hombre llegó, lo que Dios preparó para los que le aman.	9 but it is as scripture says: What no eye has seen and no ear has heard, what the mind of man cannotvisualise; al that God has prepared for those who love him;
10 Porque a nosotros nos lo reveló Dios por medio del Espíritu; y el Espíritu todo lo sondea, hasta las profundidades de Dios.	10 to us, though, God has given revelation through the Spirit, for the Spirit explores the depths ofeverything, even the depths of God.
11 En efecto, ¿qué hombre conoce lo íntimo del hombre sino el espíritu del hombre que está en él? Del mismo modo, nadie conoce lo íntimo de Dios, sino el Espíritu de Dios.	11 After al , is there anyone who knows the qualities of anyone except his own spirit, within him; and inthe same way, nobody knows the qualities of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Y nosotros no hemos recibido el espíritu del mundo, sino el Espíritu que viene de Dios, para conocer las gracias que Dios nos ha otorgado,	12 Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we mayunderstand the lavish gifts God has given us.
13 de las cuales también hablamos, no con palabras aprendidas de sabiduría humana, sino aprendidas del Espíritu, expresando realidades espirituales.	13 And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learntfrom the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things.
14 El hombre naturalmente no capta las cosas del Espíritu de Dios; son necedad para él. Y no las puede conocer pues sólo espiritualmente pueden ser juzgadas.	14 The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognisethem, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit.
15 En cambio, el hombre de espíritu lo juzga todo; y a él nadie puede juzgarle.	15 The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's valuecannot be assessed by anybody else.
16 Porque ¿quién conoció la mente del Señor para instruirle? Pero nosotros tenemos la mente de Cristo.	16 For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are thosewho have the mind of Christ.
