Oseas 12

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Efraím me ha rodeado de mentira, de engaño la casa de Israel. (Pero Judá todavía está con Dios, y sigue fiel al Santo.)	1 Ephraim besieges me with lying, the House of Israel with duplicity. (But Judah stil is on God's side, heis faithful to the Holy One.)
2 Efraím se apacienta de viento, anda tras el solano todo el día; mentira y pillaje multiplica, hacen alianza con Asiria y llevan aceite a Egipto.	2 Ephraim feeds himself on wind, all day he chases the wind from the East, he heaps up cheating andviolence; they make a treaty with Assyria, at the same time sending oil to Egypt.
3 Yahveh tiene pleito con Judá, va a visitar a Jacob, según su conducta, según sus obras le devolverá.	3 Yahweh has a case against Judah, he will punish Jacob as his conduct merits, he will repay him as hisdeeds deserve.
4 En el seno materno suplantó a su hermano, y de mayor luchó con Dios.	4 In the very womb he overreached his brother, in maturity he wrestled against God.
5 Luchó con el ángel y le pudo, lloró y le imploró gracia. En Betel le encontró y allí habló con nosotros.	5 He wrestled with the angel and beat him, he wept and pleaded with him. He met him at Bethel andthere God spoke to us-
6 Sí, Yahveh Dios Sebaot, Yahveh es su renombre.	6 yes, Yahweh, God Sabaoth, Yahweh is his title!
7 Y tú volverás, gracias a tu Dios: observa amor y derecho, y espera en tu Dios siempre.	7 So turn back with God's help, maintain faithful love and loyalty and always put your trust in your God.
8 Canaán tiene en su mano balanzas tramposas, es amigo de explotar.	8 Merchants use fraudulent scales. To defraud is his delight.
9 Y Efraím dice: «Sí, me he enriquecido, me ha fraguado una fortuna». ¡Ninguna de sus ganancias se hallará, por el pecado de que se ha hecho culpable!	9 'How rich I have become!' says Ephraim, 'I have made a fortune.' But of al his gains he wil keepnothing because of the sin of which he is guilty.
10 Yo soy Yahveh, tu Dios, desde el país de Egipto: aún te haré morar en tiendas como en los días del Encuentro;	10 But I have been Yahweh your God since your days in Egypt and will make you live in tents again asin the days of Meeting.
11 hablaré a los profetas, multiplicaré las visiones, y por medio de los profetas hablaré en parábolas.	11 I will speak through prophets, I will give vision after vision and through the ministry of prophets wilspeak in parables.
12 Si Galaad es iniquidad, ellos no son más que mentira. En Guilgal sacrifican toros; por eso sus altares serán como escombros sobre los surcos de los campos.	12 Is Gilead a sink of iniquity? Yes, they are a worthless lot! At Gilgal they sacrifice to bulls, that is whytheir altars are like heaps of stones in a ploughed field.
13 Huyó Jacob a la campiña de Aram, sirvió Israel por una mujer, por una mujer guardó rebaños.	13 Jacob fled to the countryside of Aram, Israel slaved to win a wife, to win a wife he looked after sheep.
14 Por un profeta subió Yahveh a Israel de Egipto, y por un profeta fue guardado.	14 By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel out of Egypt and by a prophet Israel was preserved.
15 Efraím le ha irritado amargamente: él dejará su sangre sobre él, su Señor le pagará su agravio.	15 Ephraim gave bitter provocation- Yahweh will bring his bloodshed down on him, his Lord wil repayhim for his insult.
