Éxodo 6

BIBLIA	NEW JERUSALEM
1 Respondió Yahveh a Moisés: «Ahora verás lo que voy a hacer con Faraón; porque bajo fuerte mano tendrá que dejarles partir y bajo fuerte mano él mismo los expulsará de su territorio.»	1 Yahweh then said to Moses, 'Now you wil see what I am going to do to Pharaoh. A mighty hand wilforce him to let them go, a mighty hand will force him to expel them from his country.'
2 Habló Dios a Moisés y le dijo: «Yo soy Yahveh.	2 God spoke to Moses and said to him, 'I am Yahweh.
3 Me aparecí a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob como El Sadday; pero mi nombre de Yahveh no se lo di a conocer.	3 To Abraham, Isaac and Jacob I appeared as El Shaddai, but I did not make my name Yahweh known tothem.
4 También con ellos establecí mi alianza, para darles la tierra de Canaán, la tierra en que peregrinaron y en la que moraron como forasteros.	4 I also made my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, the country in which they wereliving as aliens.
5 Y ahora, al oír el gemido de los israelitas, reducidos a esclavitud por los egipcios, he recordado mi alianza.	5 Furthermore, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, enslaved by the Egyptians, and haveremembered my covenant.
6 Por tanto, di a los hijos de Israel: Yo soy Yahveh; Yo os libertaré de los duros trabajos de los egipcios, os libraré de su esclavitud y os salvaré con brazo tenso y castigos grandes.	6 So say to the Israelites, "I am Yahweh. I shall free you from the forced labour of the Egyptians; I shalrescue you from their slavery and I shal redeem you with outstretched arm and mighty acts of judgement.
7 Yo os haré mi pueblo, y seré vuestro Dios; y sabréis que yo soy Yahveh, vuestro Dios, que os sacaré de la esclavitud de Egipto.	7 I shall take you as my people and I shal be your God. And you wil know that I am Yahweh your God,who have freed you from the forced labour of the Egyptians.
8 Yo os introduciré en la tierra que he jurado dar a Abraham, a Isaac y a Jacob, y os la daré en herencia. Yo, Yahveh.»	8 Then I shal lead you into the country which I swore I would give to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, andshall give it to you as your heritage, I, Yahweh." '
9 Moisés dijo esto a los israelitas; pero ellos no escucharon a Moisés, consumidos por la dura servidumbre.	9 And Moses repeated this to the Israelites, but they would not listen to Moses, so crushed was their spiritand so cruel their slavery.
10 Entonces Yahveh habló a Moisés diciendo:	10 Yahweh then said to Moses,
11 «Ve a hablar con Faraón, rey de Egipto, para que deje salir a los israelitas fuera de su territorio.»	11 'Go to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and tel him to let the Israelites leave his country.'
12 Respondió Moisés ante Yahveh: «Si los israelitas no escuchan: ¿cómo me va a escuchar Faraón, a mí que soy torpe de palabra?»	12 But Moses spoke out in Yahweh's presence and said, 'The Israelites have not listened to me, so whyshould Pharaoh take any notice of a poor speaker like me?'
13 Pero Yahveh habló a Moisés y a Aarón, y les dio órdenes para los israelitas y para Faraón, rey de Egipto, a fin de sacar del país de Egipto a los israelitas.	13 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and sent them to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites outof Egypt.
14 Estos son los jefes de sus casas paternas: Hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel: Henoc, Pallú, Jesrón y Karmí, éstas son las familias de Rubén.	14 These were their heads of families: The sons of Reuben, Israel's first-born: Hanoch, Pal u, Hezron andCarmi: these are the clans of Reuben.
15 Hijos de Simeón: Yemuel, Yamín, Ohad, Yakín, Sójar y Saúl, hijo de la cananea; éstas son las familias de Simeón.	15 The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul son of the Canaanite woman:these are the clans of Simeon.
16 Y éstos son los nombres de los hijos de Leví por sus linajes: Guerson, Quehat, Merarí. Los años de la vida de Leví fueron 137.	16 These were the names of the sons of Levi with their descendants: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levilived for a hundred and thirty-seven years.
17 Hijos de Guerson: Libní y Simei según sus familias.	17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, with their clans.
18 Hijos de Quehat: Amram, Yishar, Hebrón y Uzziel. Los años de la vida de Quehat fueron 133 años.	18 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived for a hundred and thirty-threeyears.
19 Hijos de Merarí: Majlí y Musí. Estas son las familias de los levitas, por sus linajes.	19 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the clans of Levi with their descendants.
20 Amram tomó por mujer a Yokébed, su tía, de la cual nacieron Aarón y Moisés. Y los años de la vida de Amram fueron 137.	20 Amram married Jochebed, his aunt, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived for a hundred andthirty-seven years.
21 Hijos de Yishar: Coré, Néfeg y Zikrí.	21 The sons of Izhar were: Korah, Nepheg and Zichri.
22 Hijos de Uzziel: Missael, Elsafán y Sitrí.	22 And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri.
23 Aarón tomó por mujer a Isabel, hija de Amminadab, hermana de Najsón; de la cual le nacieron Nadab, Abihú, Eleazar e Itamar.	23 Aaron married Elisheba daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab,Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24 Hijos de Coré: Assir, Elcaná y Abiasaf. Estas son la familias de los coreítas.	24 The sons of Korah: Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These are the clans of the Korahites.
25 Eleazar, hijo de Aarón, tomó por mujer a una de las hijas de Putiel y de ella nació Pinjás. Estos son los jefes de las casas paternas de los levitas, según sus familias.	25 Eleazar, son of Aaron, married one of Putiel's daughters who bore him Phinehas. These were theLevitical heads of families, according to clan.
26 Estos son, pues, aquel Aarón y aquel Moisés a quienes dijo Yahveh: «Sacad a los israelitas de la tierra de Egipto en orden de campaña.»	26 It was to this Aaron and Moses that Yahweh said, 'Lead the Israelites out of Egypt in their armies.'
27 Estos son los que hablaron a Faraón, rey de Egipto, para sacar de Egipto a los israelitas. Estos son Moisés y Aarón.	27 It was they who spoke to Pharaoh, king of Egypt, to lead the Israelites out of Egypt -- namely Mosesand Aaron.
28 El día en que Yahveh habló a Moisés en el país de Egipto,	28 Now the day when Yahweh spoke to Moses in Egypt,
29 le dijo: «Yo soy Yahveh; di a Faraón, rey de Egipto, cuanto yo te diga.»	29 Yahweh said to Moses, 'Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything that I am going to say to you.'
30 Moisés respondió ante Yahveh: «Siendo yo torpe de palabra, ¿cómo me va a escuchar Faraón?»	30 But Moses said to Yahweh's face, 'I am a poor speaker, so why should Pharaoh take any notice ofme?'
