1 And he said to his disciples, "Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come!	1 Un giorno disse ai suoi discepoli: "E' inevitabile che succedano scandali; però guai a colui che li provoca.
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.	2 E' meglio per lui che gli sia appesa al collo una grossa pietra e sia gettato in mare, piuttosto che scandalizzare uno di questi piccoli.
3 Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;	3 Guardatevene bene! Se un tuo fratello ti offende, tu rimproveralo; ma se poi si pente, perdonagli.
4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."	4 E se anche ti offende sette volte al giorno e sette volte al giorno torna da te a chiederti perdono, tu perdonalo".
5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"	5 Gli apostoli dissero al Signore: "Aumenta la nostra fede!".
6 And the Lord said, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.	6 Il Signore rispose: "Se aveste fede come un granello di senapa, potreste dire a questo gelso: "Togli le radici da questo terreno e vai a piantarti nel mare", ed esso vi ascolterebbe.
7 "Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down at table?	7 Chi di voi, se ha un servo che si trova ad arare o a pascolare il gregge, gli dirà, quando sarà ritornato dal campo: "Vieni subito e mettiti a tavola"?
8 Will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?	8 Non gli dirà piuttosto: "Preparami la cena: rimboccati la veste e servi in tavola, finché io mangi e beva, e dopo mangerai e berrai anche tu"?
9 Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded?	9 Avrà forse degli obblighi verso il suo servo, perché questi ha compiuto ciò che gli è stato comandato?
10 So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'"	10 Così fate anche voi. Quando avrete fatto tutto quello che vi è stato ordinato, dite: "Siamo servi inutili. Abbiamo fatto quello che dovevamo fare!".
11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.	11 Mentre andava verso Gerusalemme, Gesù attraversò la Samaria e la Galilea.
12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance	12 Entrando in un villaggio, gli vennero incontro dieci lebbrosi. Questi si fermarono ad una certa distanza
13 and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."	13 e ad alta voce dissero a Gesù: "Gesù, maestro, abbi pietà di noi!".
14 When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed.	14 Appena li vide Gesù disse: "Andate dai sacerdoti e presentatevi loro". E mentre quelli andavano, furono guariti.
15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice;	15 Uno di loro, appena vide di essere guarito, tornò indietro glorificando Dio a gran voce
16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.	16 e si gettò bocconi per terra ai piedi di Gesù per ringraziarlo. Era un samaritano.
17 Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?	17 Gesù allora disse: "Non sono stati guariti tutti e dieci? Dove sono gli altri nove?
18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"	18 Non è ritornato nessun altro a ringraziare Dio all'infuori di questo straniero?".
19 And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."	19 E gli disse: "A'lzati e va': la tua fede ti ha salvato".
20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;	20 I farisei gli domandarono: "Quando viene il regno di Dio?". Egli rispose: "Il regno di Dio non viene in modo che si possa osservare.
21 nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."	21 Nessuno potrà dire: "Eccolo qui", o: "Eccolo là", perché il regno di Dio è già in mezzo a voi".
22 And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it.	22 Poi disse ai discepoli: "Verranno tempi nei quali desidererete vedere uno solo dei giorni del Figlio dell'uomo, ma non lo vedrete.
23 And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or 'Lo, here!' Do not go, do not follow them.	23 Vi diranno: "Eccolo qui", oppure: "Eccolo là"; ma voi non vi muovete, non seguiteli.
24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day.	24 Come infatti il lampo guizza da un estremo all'altro del cielo e illumina ogni cosa, così sarà il Figlio dell'uomo nel suo giorno.
25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.	25 Ma prima egli deve patire molto ed essere rifiutato dagli uomini di questo tempo.
26 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.	26 E come avvenne ai tempi di Noè, così sarà nei giorni del Figlio dell'uomo:
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.	27 si mangiava, si beveva, si prendeva moglie e si prendeva marito, fino al giorno in cui Noè entrò nell'arca. Poi venne il diluvio e li spazzò via tutti.
28 Likewise as it was in the days of Lot--they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built,	28 Lo stesso avvenne ai tempi di Lot: la gente mangiava e beveva, comprava e vendeva, piantava e costruiva.
29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all--	29 Ma nel giorno in cui Lot uscì da Sodoma, venne dal cielo fuoco e zolfo e li distrusse tutti.
30 so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed.	30 Così succederà nel giorno in cui il Figlio dell'uomo si manifesterà.
31 On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back.	31 In quel giorno, se qualcuno si troverà sulla terrazza, non scenda in casa a prendere le sue cose. Se uno si troverà nei campi, non torni indietro.
32 Remember Lot's wife.	32 Ricordatevi della moglie di Lot.
33 Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.	33 Chi cercherà di preservare la sua vita la perderà, chi invece darà la propria vita la conserverà.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.	34 Vi dico: in quella notte due saranno in un letto: uno verrà preso e l'altro lasciato.
35 There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left."	35 Due donne si troveranno a macinare insieme il grano: una sarà presa e l'altra lasciata.
36 .	36 Due uomini si troveranno nei campi: uno sarà preso e l'altro lasciato".
37 And they said to him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."	37 I discepoli allora gli dicono: "Dove, Signore?". Egli disse loro: "Dove sarà il cadavere, là si raduneranno anche gli avvoltoi".
