1 And he said to his disciples, "Temptations to sin are sure to come; but woe to him by whom they come!	1 Poi, Gesù disse ai suoi discepoli: «È inevitabile che avvengano scandali, ma guai a colui a causa del quale avvengono!
2 It would be better for him if a millstone were hung round his neck and he were cast into the sea, than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.	2 È meglio per lui se gli legano al collo una macina da mulino e lo buttano a mare, piuttosto che scandalizzare uno di questi piccoli.
3 Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;	3 Badate a voi! Se un tuo fratello pecca contro di te, rimproveralo; e se si pente, perdonalo.
4 and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."	4 E se sette volte al giorno peccasse contro di te e sette volte ritornasse a dirti: “Me ne pento”, perdonagli».
5 The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"	5 E gli apostoli dissero al Signore: «Accresci la nostra fede!» Disse il Signore:
6 And the Lord said, "If you had faith as a grain of mustard seed, you could say to this sycamine tree, 'Be rooted up, and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you.	6 «Se aveste fede quanto un granello di senapa, potreste dire a questo gelso: “Sradicati e piantati in mare!” e vi ubbidirebbe.
7 "Will any one of you, who has a servant plowing or keeping sheep, say to him when he has come in from the field, 'Come at once and sit down at table?	7 Chi di voi; se ha un servo ad arare o al pascolo, al suo ritorno dalla campagna gli direbbe: ‘Svelto, vieni a metterti a tavola”?
8 Will he not rather say to him, 'Prepare supper for me, and gird yourself and serve me, till I eat and drink; and afterward you shall eat and drink?	8 Non gli dirà, invece: “Preparami da cenare, cingiti per servirmi finché io abbia mangiato e bevuto; dopo mangerai e berrai tu”?
9 Does he thank the servant because he did what was commanded?	9 Forse è obbligato col Servo perché ha eseguito gli ordini?
10 So you also, when you have done all that is commanded you, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'"	10 Così anche Voi: quando avrete fatto tutto ciò che vi è stato comandato, dite: Servi inutili siamo; abbiamo atto quello che dovevamo fare».
11 On the way to Jerusalem he was passing along between Samaria and Galilee.	11 E avvenne che, mentre egli era in cammino in direzione di Gerusalemme, passò ai confini tra la Samaria e la Galilea.
12 And as he entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance	12 Al suo ingresso in un villaggio, gli vennero incontro dieci lebbrosi, i quali, fermatisi a distanza,
13 and lifted up their voices and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us."	13 gridarono: «Gesù, maestro, abbi pietà di noi!»
14 When he saw them he said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they went they were cleansed.	14 A tal vista, egli disse: «Andate a mostrarvi ai sacerdoti». Mentre andavano, furono mondati.
15 Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, praising God with a loud voice;	15 Uno di loro, vistosi guarito, tornò indietro glorificando Dio a gran voce
16 and he fell on his face at Jesus' feet, giving him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.	16 e si gettò faccia a terra ai piedi di Gesù, ringraziandolo. Ed era un Samaritano.
17 Then said Jesus, "Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?	17 Gesù prese a dire: «Non sono stati mondati tutti e dieci? E gli altri nove dove sono?
18 Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"	18 Non si è trovato uno che tornasse per dare gloria a Dio al di fuori di questo straniero?»
19 And he said to him, "Rise and go your way; your faith has made you well."	19 E gli disse: «Alzati, va’: la tua fede ti ha salvato».
20 Being asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was coming, he answered them, "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed;	20 Interrogato dai farisei quando dovesse venire il regno di Dio, rispose loro: «Il regno di Dio non viene ostensibilmente,
21 nor will they say, 'Lo, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you."	21 né si potrà dire: “Eccolo qua” oppure ‘ Eccolo là”; ecco, infatti, il regno di Dio è tra voi».
22 And he said to the disciples, "The days are coming when you will desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you will not see it.	22 Disse ancora ai suoi discepoli: «Tempo verrà che bramerete vedere uno solo dei giorni del Figlio dell’uomo, ma non lo vedrete.
23 And they will say to you, 'Lo, there!' or 'Lo, here!' Do not go, do not follow them.	23 E vi diranno: “Eccolo là, eccolo qua!”. Non vi muovete, non seguite costoro,
24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day.	24 perché come il lampo, brillando, guizza da un punto all’altro del cielo, così sarà il Figlio dell’uomo nel suo giorno.
25 But first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.	25 Ma prima è necessario che egli soffra molto e sia ripudiato da questa generazione.
26 As it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of man.	26 E come avvenne nei giorni di Noè, così accadrà anche nei giorni del Figlio dell’uomo:
27 They ate, they drank, they married, they were given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.	27 si mangiava, si beveva, si prendeva moglie, si prendeva marito, fino al giorno in cui Noè entrò nell’arca, ma venne il diluvio e fece perire tutti.
28 Likewise as it was in the days of Lot--they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built,	28 Similmente, come avvenne nei giorni di Lot: si mangiava, si beveva, si comprava, si vendeva, si piantava, si costruiva;
29 but on the day when Lot went out from Sodom fire and sulphur rained from heaven and destroyed them all--	29 ma nel giorno in cui Lot uscì da Sodoma, piovve fuoco e zolfo dal cielo e fece perire tutti.
30 so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed.	30 Così sarà nel giorno in cui il Figlio dell’uomo si rivelerà.
31 On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back.	31 In quel giorno, chi sta in terrazza e ha in casa i suoi arnesi non scenda giù a prenderli; similmente, chi è in campagna non ritorni indietro.
32 Remember Lot's wife.	32 Ricordate la moglie di Lot!
33 Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.	33 Chi cercherà di mettere in salvo la sua vita la perderà, e chi la perderà la conserverà.
34 I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left.	34 Vi dico: in quella notte ci saranno due, in un medesimo letto: l’uno sarà preso e l’altro lasciato.
35 There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left."	35 Saranno a macinare due donne insieme: l’una sarà presa e l’altra lasciata».

37 And they said to him, "Where, Lord?" He said to them, "Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together."	37 Gli domandano: «Dove, Signore?» Disse loro: «Dov'è il corpo, là si raduneranno anche gli avvoltoi».
