Psalms 37

1 A Psalm of David. Fret not yourself because of the wicked, be not envious of wrongdoers!	1 Dawidowy. Nie unoś się gniewem z powodu złoczyńców ani nie zazdrość niesprawiedliwym,
2 For they will soon fade like the grass, and wither like the green herb.	2 bo znikną tak prędko jak trawa i zwiędną jak świeża zieleń.
3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so you will dwell in the land, and enjoy security.	3 Miej ufność w Panu i postępuj dobrze, mieszkaj w ziemi i zachowaj wierność.
4 Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.	4 Raduj się w Panu, a On spełni pragnienia twego serca.
5 Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.	5 Powierz Panu swoją drogę i zaufaj Mu: On sam będzie działał
6 He will bring forth your vindication as the light, and your right as the noonday.	6 i sprawi, że twoja sprawiedliwość zabłyśnie jak światło, a słuszność twoja - jak południe.
7 Be still before the LORD, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!	7 Upokórz się przed Panem i Jemu zaufaj! Nie oburzaj się na tego, komu się szczęści w drodze, na człowieka, co obmyśla zasadzki.
8 Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil.	8 Zaprzestań gniewu i porzuć zapalczywość; nie oburzaj się: to wiedzie tylko ku złemu.
9 For the wicked shall be cut off; but those who wait for the LORD shall possess the land.	9 Złoczyńcy bowiem wyginą, a ufający Panu posiądą ziemię.
10 Yet a little while, and the wicked will be no more; though you look well at his place, he will not be there.	10 Jeszcze chwila, a nie będzie przestępcy: spojrzysz na jego miejsce, a już go nie będzie.
11 But the meek shall possess the land, and delight themselves in abundant prosperity.	11 Natomiast pokorni posiądą ziemię i będą się rozkoszować wielkim pokojem.
12 The wicked plots against the righteous, and gnashes his teeth at him;	12 Przeciw sprawiedliwemu zło knuje występny i zgrzyta na niego zębami.
13 but the LORD laughs at the wicked, for he sees that his day is coming.	13 Pan śmieje się z niego, bo widzi, że jego dzień nadchodzi.
14 The wicked draw the sword and bend their bows, to bring down the poor and needy, to slay those who walk uprightly;	14 Występni dobywają miecza, łuk swój napinają, by powalić biedaka i nieszczęśliwego, by zabić tych, których droga jest prosta.
15 their sword shall enter their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.	15 Ich miecz przeszyje własne ich serca, a ich łuki zostaną złamane.
16 Better is a little that the righteous has than the abundance of many wicked.	16 Lepsza jest odrobina, którą ma sprawiedliwy, niż wielkie bogactwo występnych,
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken; but the LORD upholds the righteous.	17 bo ramiona występnych będą połamane, a sprawiedliwych Pan podtrzymuje.
18 The LORD knows the days of the blameless, and their heritage will abide for ever;	18 Pan zna dni nienagannych, a ich dziedzictwo trwać będzie na wieki;
19 they are not put to shame in evil times, in the days of famine they have abundance.	19 w czasie klęski nie zaznają wstydu, a we dni głodu będą syci.
20 But the wicked perish; the enemies of the LORD are like the glory of the pastures, they vanish--like smoke they vanish away.	20 Występni natomiast poginą; wrogowie Pana jak krasa łąk zwiędną, jak dym się rozwieją.
21 The wicked borrows, and cannot pay back, but the righteous is generous and gives;	21 Występny pożycza, ale nie zwraca, a sprawiedliwy lituje się i obdarza.
22 for those blessed by the LORD shall possess the land, but those cursed by him shall be cut off.	22 Błogosławieni przez Pana posiądą ziemię, przeklęci przez Niego będą wyniszczeni.
23 The steps of a man are from the LORD, and he establishes him in whose way he delights;	23 Pan umacnia kroki człowieka i w jego drodze ma upodobanie.
24 though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD is the stay of his hand.	24 A choćby upadł, to nie będzie leżał, bo rękę jego Pan podtrzymuje.
25 I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging bread.	25 Byłem dzieckiem i jestem już starcem, a nie widziałem sprawiedliwego w opuszczeniu ani potomstwa jego, by o chleb żebrało.
26 He is ever giving liberally and lending, and his children become a blessing.	26 Lituje się on w każdym czasie i pożycza; potomstwo jego stanie się błogosławieństwem.
27 Depart from evil, and do good; so shall you abide for ever.	27 Odstąp od złego, czyń dobro, abyś mógł mieszkać na wieki,
28 For the LORD loves justice; he will not forsake his saints. The righteous shall be preserved for ever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off.	28 bo Pan miłuje sprawiedliwość i nie opuszcza swych świętych; nikczemni wyginą, a potomstwo występnych będzie wytępione.
29 The righteous shall possess the land, and dwell upon it for ever.	29 Sprawiedliwi posiądą ziemię i będą mieszkać na niej na zawsze.
30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks justice.	30 Usta sprawiedliwego głoszą mądrość i język jego mówi to, co słuszne.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; his steps do not slip.	31 Prawo jego Boga jest w jego sercu, a jego kroki się nie zachwieją.
32 The wicked watches the righteous, and seeks to slay him.	32 Występny czatuje na sprawiedliwego i usiłuje go zabić,
33 The LORD will not abandon him to his power, or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.	33 lecz Pan nie zostawia go w jego ręku i nie pozwala skazać, gdy stanie przed sądem.
34 Wait for the LORD, and keep to his way, and he will exalt you to possess the land; you will look on the destruction of the wicked.	34 Miej nadzieję w Panu i strzeż Jego drogi, a On cię wyniesie, abyś posiadł ziemię; zobaczysz zagładę występnych.
35 I have seen a wicked man overbearing, and towering like a cedar of Lebanon.	35 Widziałem, jak występny się pysznił i rozpierał się jak cedr zielony.
36 Again I passed by, and, lo, he was no more; though I sought him, he could not be found.	36 Przeszedłem obok, a już go nie było; szukałem go, lecz nie można było go znaleźć.
37 Mark the blameless man, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the man of peace.	37 Strzeż uczciwości, przypatruj się prawości, bo w końcu osiągnie [ten] człowiek pomyślność.
38 But transgressors shall be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked shall be cut off.	38 Wszyscy zaś grzesznicy będą wyniszczeni, potomstwo występnych wyginie.
39 The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their refuge in the time of trouble.	39 Zbawienie sprawiedliwych pochodzi od Pana; On ich ucieczką w czasie utrapienia.
40 The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked, and saves them, because they take refuge in him.	40 Pan ich wspomaga, wyzwala; wyzwala ich od występnych i zachowuje, do Niego bowiem się uciekają.
