NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 I saw that in the right hand of the One sitting on the throne there was a scrol that was written on backand front and was sealed with seven seals.	1 J’ai vu alors, dans la main de celui qui siège sur le trône, un rouleau tout écrit à l’intérieur et à l’extérieur, et fermé avec sept sceaux.
2 Then I saw a powerful angel who cal ed with a loud voice, 'Who is worthy to open the scroll and breakits seals?'	2 Et puis j’ai vu un ange formidable qui appelait d’une voix forte: "Qui donc pourra briser les sceaux et ouvrir le livre?”
3 But there was no one, in heaven or on the earth or under the earth, who was able to open the scrol andread it.	3 Mais personne au ciel ne pouvait ouvrir le livre et y regarder, et personne non plus sur la terre ou dans le monde d’en-bas.
4 I wept bitterly because nobody could be found to open the scrol and read it,	4 Alors j’ai beaucoup pleuré: nul n’était donc digne d’ouvrir le livre et d’en voir le contenu!
5 but one of the elders said to me, 'Do not weep. Look, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,has triumphed, and so he wil open the scroll and its seven seals.'	5 Mais un des Anciens m’a dit: "Ne pleure donc pas. Le lion de Juda, le rejeton de David, a remporté la victoire: lui fera sauter les sept sceaux du livre.”
6 Then I saw, in the middle of the throne with its four living creatures and the circle of the elders, a Lambstanding that seemed to have been sacrificed; it had seven horns, and it had seven eyes, which are the sevenSpirits that God has sent out over the whole world.	6 J’ai vu alors un agneau qui semblait avoir été égorgé. Il se tenait entre le trône et les quatre Vivants, au milieu des 24 Anciens; on lui voyait sept cornes et sept yeux qui sont les sept esprits de Dieu envoyés sur toute la terre.
7 The Lamb came forward to take the scrol from the right hand of the One sitting on the throne,	7 C’est alors que l’Agneau se présente et prend le livre de la main de celui qui est assis sur le trône.
8 and when he took it, the four living creatures prostrated themselves before him and with them thetwenty-four elders; each one of them was holding a harp and had a golden bowl full of incense which are theprayers of the saints.	8 À peine l’a-t-il pris que les quatre Vivants et les 24 Anciens se prosternent devant l’Agneau, chacun avec sa cithare et des coupes d’or remplies de parfums qui sont les prières des saints.
9 They sang a new hymn: You are worthy to take the scrol and to break its seals, because you weresacrificed, and with your blood you bought people for God of every race, language, people and nation	9 Et ils entonnent ce cantique nouveau: Tu es digne de prendre le livre et d’en ouvrir les sceaux, car tu as été égorgé et tu as acquis pour Dieu, par ton sang, des hommes de toute tribu et langue, de tout peuple et nation.
10 and made them a line of kings and priests for God, to rule the world.	10 Tu as fait d’eux pour notre Dieu un royaume, des prêtres; ils régneront sur la terre.
11 In my vision, I heard the sound of an immense number of angels gathered round the throne and theliving creatures and the elders; there were ten thousand times ten thousand of them and thousands uponthousands,	11 Alors, comme je regardais, j’entendis la voix d’une quantité d’anges qui entouraient le trône avec les Vivants et les Anciens. Ils sont des milliers de milliers et des myriades de myriades,
12 loudly chanting: Worthy is the Lamb that was sacrificed to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength,honour, glory and blessing.	12 et ils crient: L’Agneau sacrifié est digne de recevoir la puissance, la richesse, la sagesse et la force, l’honneur, la gloire et les bénédictions.
13 Then I heard al the living things in creation -- everything that lives in heaven, and on earth, and underthe earth, and in the sea, crying: To the One seated on the throne and to the Lamb, be al praise, honour, gloryand power, for ever and ever.	13 Toutes les créatures leur firent écho dans le ciel, sur la terre et dans le monde d’en-bas. Je les entendis qui disaient: À celui qui siège sur le trône, et à l’Agneau, la bénédiction, l’honneur, la gloire et la puissance, pour tous les siècles des siècles!
14 And the four living creatures said, 'Amen'; and the elders prostrated themselves to worship.	14 Les quatre Vivants dirent l’Amen, et les Anciens se jetèrent à terre pour adorer.
