Revelation 4

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Then, in my vision, I saw a door open in heaven and heard the same voice speaking to me, the voicelike a trumpet, saying, 'Come up here: I will show you what is to take place in the future.'	1 Post haec vidi: et ecce ostium apertum in caelo, et vox prima, quamaudivi, tamquam tubae loquentis mecum dicens: “ Ascende huc, et ostendam tibi,quae oportet fieri post haec ”.
2 With that, I fel into ecstasy and I saw a throne standing in heaven, and the One who was sitting on thethrone,	2 Statim fui in spiritu: et ecce thronuspositus erat in caelo; et supra thronum sedens;
3 and the One sitting there looked like a diamond and a ruby. There was a rainbow encircling the throne,and this looked like an emerald.	3 et, qui sedebat, similis erataspectu lapidi iaspidi et sardino; et iris erat in circuitu throni, aspectusimilis smaragdo.
4 Round the throne in a circle were twenty-four thrones, and on them twenty-four elders sitting, dressedin white robes with golden crowns on their heads.	4 Et in circuitu throni, viginti quattuor thronos, et superthronos viginti quattuor seniores sedentes, circumamictos vestimentis albis, etsuper capita eorum coronas aureas.
5 Flashes of lightning were coming from the throne, and the sound of peals of thunder, and in front of thethrone there were seven flaming lamps burning, the seven Spirits of God.	5 Et de throno procedunt fulgura et voces ettonitrua; et septem lampades ignis ardentes ante thronum, quae sunt septemspiritus Dei;
6 In front of the throne was a sea as transparent as crystal. In the middle of the throne and around it,were four living creatures al studded with eyes, in front and behind.	6 et in conspectu throni tamquam mare vitreum simile crystallo. Etin medio throni et in circuitu throni quattuor animalia, plena oculis ante etretro:
7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second like a bull, the third living creature had a human face,and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.	7 et animal primum simile leoni, et secundum animal simile vitulo, ettertium animal habens faciem quasi hominis, et quartum animal simile aquilaevolanti.
8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was studded with eyes all the way round as well asinside; and day and night they never stopped singing: Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God, the Almighty; who was,and is and is to come.'	8 Et quattuor animalia singula eorum habebant alas senas, in circuituet intus plenae sunt oculis; et requiem non habent die et nocte dicentia: “Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus Dominus, Deus omnipotens, qui erat et qui est et quiventurus est! ”.
9 Every time the living creatures glorified and honoured and gave thanks to the One sitting on the throne,who lives for ever and ever,	9 Et cum darent illa animalia gloriam et honorem et gratiarumactionem sedenti super thronum, viventi in saecula saeculorum,
10 the twenty-four elders prostrated themselves before him to worship the One who lives for ever andever, and threw down their crowns in front of the throne, saying:	10 procidebantviginti quattuor seniores ante sedentem in throno et adorabant viventem insaecula saeculorum et mittebant coronas suas ante thronum dicentes:
11 You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honour and power, for you made the wholeuniverse; by your wil , when it did not exist, it was created.	11 “ Dignus es, Domine et Deus noster, accipere gloriam et honorem et virtutem, quia tu creasti omnia, et propter voluntatem tuam erant et creata sunt ”.
