NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 From Jude, servant of Jesus Christ and brother of James; to those who are cal ed, to those who aredear to God the Father and kept safe for Jesus Christ,	1 Judas, servo de Jesus Cristo e irmão de Tiago, aos eleitos bem-amados em Deus Pai e reservados para Jesus Cristo.
2 mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.	2 Que a misericórdia, a paz e o amor se realizem em vós copiosamente.
3 My dear friends, at a time when I was eagerly looking forward to writing to you about the salvation thatwe all share, I felt that I must write to you encouraging you to fight hard for the faith which has been once and foral entrusted to God's holy people.	3 Caríssimos, estando eu muito preocupado em vos escrever a respeito da nossa comum salvação, senti a necessidade de dirigir-vos esta carta para exortar-vos a pelejar pela fé, confiada de uma vez para sempre aos santos.
4 Certain people have infiltrated among you, who were long ago marked down for condemnation on thisaccount; without any reverence they pervert the grace of our God to debauchery and deny al religion, rejectingour only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.	4 Pois certos homens ímpios se introduziram furtivamente entre nós, os quais desde muito tempo estão destinados para este julgamento; eles transformam em dissolução a graça de nosso Deus e negam Jesus Cristo, nosso único Mestre e Senhor.
5 I should like to remind you -- though you have already learnt it once and for al -- that the Lord rescuedthe nation from Egypt, but afterwards he stil destroyed the people who refused to believe him;	5 Quisera trazer-vos à memória, embora saibais todas estas coisas: o Senhor, depois de ter salvo o povo da terra do Egito, fez em seguida perecer os incrédulos.
6 and the angels who did not keep to the authority they had, but left their appointed sphere, he has kept indarkness in eternal bonds until the judgement of the great Day.	6 Os anjos que não tinham guardado a dignidade de sua classe, mas abandonado os seus tronos, ele os guardou com laços eternos nas trevas para o julgamento do Grande Dia.
7 Sodom and Gomorrah, too, and the neighbouring towns, who with the same sexual immorality pursuedunnatural lusts, are put before us as an example since they are paying the penalty of eternal fire.	7 Da mesma forma Sodoma, Gomorra e as cidades circunvizinhas, que praticaram as mesmas impurezas e se entregaram a vícios contra a natureza, jazem lá como exemplo, sofrendo a pena do fogo eterno.
8 Nevertheless, these people are doing the same: in their delusions they not only defile their bodies anddisregard Authority, but abuse the Glories as wel .	8 Assim também estes homens, em seu louco desvario, contaminam igualmente a carne, desprezam a soberania e maldizem as glórias.
9 Not even the archangel Michael, when he was engaged in argument with the devil about the corpse ofMoses, dared to denounce him in the language of abuse; all he said was, 'May the Lord rebuke you.'	9 Ora, quando o arcanjo Miguel discutia com o demônio e lhe disputava o corpo de Moisés, não ousou fulminar contra ele uma sentença de execração, mas disse somente: Que o próprio Senhor te repreenda!
10 But these people abuse anything they do not understand; and the only things they do understand --merely by nature like unreasoning animals -- wil turn out to be fatal to them.	10 Estes, porém, falam mal do que ignoram. Encontram eles a sua perdição naquilo que não conhecem, senão de um modo natural, à maneira dos animais destituídos de razão.
11 Alas for them, because they have fol owed Cain; they have thrown themselves into the same delusionas Balaam for a reward; they have been ruined by the same rebel ion as Korah -and share the same fate.	11 Ai deles, porque andaram pelo caminho de Caim, e por amor do lucro caíram no erro de Balaão e pereceram na revolta de Coré.
12 They are a dangerous hazard at your community meals, coming for the food and quite shamelesslyonly looking after themselves. They are like the clouds blown about by the winds and bringing no rain, or likeautumn trees, barren and uprooted and so twice dead;	12 Esses fazem escândalos nos vossos ágapes. Banqueteiam-se convosco despudoradamente e se saciam a si mesmos. São nuvens sem água, que os ventos levam! Árvores de fim de outono, sem fruto, duas vezes mortas, desarraigadas!
13 like wild sea waves with their own shame for foam; or like wandering stars for whom the gloom ofdarkness is stored up for ever.	13 Ondas furiosas do mar, que arrojam as espumas da sua torpeza! Estrelas errantes, para as quais está reservada a escuridão das trevas para toda a eternidade!
14 It was with them in mind that Enoch, the seventh patriarch from Adam, made his prophecy when hesaid, 'I tel you, the Lord wil come with his holy ones in their tens of thousands,	14 Também Henoc, que foi o oitavo patriarca depois de Adão, profetizou a respeito deles, dizendo: Eis que veio o Senhor entre milhares de seus santos
15 to pronounce judgement on al humanity and to sentence the godless for al the godless things theyhave done, and for al the defiant things said against him by godless sinners.'	15 para julgar a todos e confundir a todos os ímpios por causa das obras de impiedade que praticaram, e por causa de todas as palavras injuriosas que eles, ímpios, têm proferido contra Deus.
16 They are mischief-makers, grumblers governed only by their own desires, with mouths ful of boastfultalk, ready to flatter others for gain.	16 Estes são murmuradores descontentes, homens que vivem segundo as suas paixões, cuja boca profere palavras soberbas e que admiram os demais por interesse.
17 But remember, my dear friends, what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold.	17 Mas vós, caríssimos, lembrai-vos das palavras que vos foram preditas pelos apóstolos de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo,
18 'At the final point of time', they told you, 'there wil be mockers who fol ow nothing but their own godlessdesires.'	18 os quais vos diziam: No fim dos tempos virão impostores, que viverão segundo as suas ímpias paixões;
19 It is they who cause division, who live according to nature and do not possess the Spirit.	19 homens que semeiam a discórdia, homens sensuais que não têm o Espírito.
20 But you, my dear friends, must build yourselves up on the foundation of your most holy faith, praying inthe Holy Spirit;	20 Mas vós, caríssimos, edificai-vos mutuamente sobre o fundamento da vossa santíssima fé. Orai no Espírito Santo.
21 keep yourselves within the love of God and wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to give youeternal life.	21 Conservai-vos no amor de Deus, aguardando a misericórdia de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, para a vida eterna.
22 To some you must be compassionate because they are wavering;	22 Para com uns exercei a vossa misericórdia, repreendendo-os,
23 others you must save by snatching them from the fire; to others again you must be compassionate butwary, hating even the tunic stained by their bodies.	23 e salvai-os, arrebatando-os do fogo. Dos demais tende compaixão, repassada de temor, detestando até a túnica manchada pela carne.
24 To him who can keep you from fal ing and bring you safe to his glorious presence, innocent and joyful,	24 Àquele, que é poderoso para nos preservar de toda queda e nos apresentar diante de sua glória, imaculados e cheios de alegria,
25 to the only God, our Saviour, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, authority and power, before al ages, now and for ever. Amen.	25 ao Deus único, Salvador nosso, por Jesus Cristo, Senhor nosso, sejam dadas glória, magnificência, império e poder desde antes de todos os tempos, agora e para sempre. Amém.
